Anyone had recurring thrush? Im literally getting it every 2 weeks. This is now 5th time since oct I've had it. I go chemist, get a tablet. It clears up. Week later its back again.

I've not had sex for months and months so not that. Not had anti bionics.
I have been taking numerous and constant heavy pain medication since September (as prescribed and gradually decreasing, have had major surgery for unrelated issue).
Am also peri menopausal.

Anyone else had this? Just feel a bit eww down below all the time

Yes, no answer though, sorry, just solidarity. I need to go to the GP and ask them what to do about it.

Do you also use the external cream alongside the tablet? If not, I would try this next time and see if it helps. Have they checked you for diabetes etc?

Yes I had this for a while, doctor prescribed a six month treatment of fluconazole to be taken weekly. I'm so sorry for you, it really is the pits.

I went through various over the counter & GP treatments plus endless tests for diabetes etc, & eventually was diagnosed with anaemia + B12 deficiency by a doctor at the self referral sexual health clinic (GP suggested I try there for more ideas).

The doctor did say to me that anaemia was one thing she always checked with recurrent thrush not responding to other treatments / with obvious other causes, and it was often the answer.

Anyways, I'd try either your GP or a sexual health clinic if they're taking patients near you atm.

If you are period menopausal are you sure its thrush? I ask only because that's what I thought I had because it was sore just to wipe, but it was actually vaginal atrophy sorted by using hormone cream. You need to see your gp for an exam in any case, as it may not be thrush.

Peri menopausal 🙄

digthroughtheditches · 27/12/2020 22:42

Touch wood, yes so far. I've been over 12 months without an infection.

If it’s not itchy could it be BV rather than thrush?
