How do I get this tree out without trashing the communal areas ?

Wasn't so bad coming in as it was netted up and fresh. I'm in a Victorian apartment 1st floor and it's really difficult to get the hoover down to the communal hallway.

-No window big enough to Chuck it out
-It's in a pot/ soil
-No saw

Anybody got any top tips? All I can think of so far is wrapping it in a bed sheet to carry it down.

Put a duvet cover over it?

TodgerStrunk · 26/12/2020 13:15

Wrap it in clingfilm?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/12/2020 13:16

How big is it? Would something like a wheely bin liner, or a couple of ordinary bin liners be big enough?
I'd be careful of using bedding as it might ooze some resin if any of the branches snap while you're moving it.

Splodgetastic · 26/12/2020 13:18

Is throwing it out of the window an option?

Breathmiller · 26/12/2020 13:22

We always tip ours onto a dust sheet to drag it out. Definitely minimises the shedding.
I do remember brushing the stairs to our tenement flat one year and still finding needles in May!

Def duvet cover

Justmuddlingalong · 26/12/2020 13:25

Cut open some bin liners and tape it around the tree tightly?

JanewaysBun · 26/12/2020 13:28

I have your answer OP!
Search "Christmas tree bag" on eBay.
Its basically an enormous plastic bag. You lift the tree up and put it on the bag (scrunched down). Then pull the sides up and voila! Xmas tree in a bag. Get the biggest size they have.

Made an almighty mess all around my block of flats before learning this!

TotorosFurryBehind · 26/12/2020 13:28

We had this same problem before and a bed sheet worked really well.

JanewaysBun · 26/12/2020 13:31

I reuse the bag to save plastic

lesleyashfishlips · 26/12/2020 14:06

I use a duvet cover here. One of the kids navy blue ones and then it doesnt matter if I get christmas tree juice on it then

MrDarcysMa · 26/12/2020 14:52

Great suggestions all. Thanks @JanewaysBun will look at that!

*it won't go In a normal hun bag. Bir too big and wide. And can't go out of the window.

Thank you!
