Drinking a whole bottle of gin

A friend of mine mentioned the other day that she drank a whole bottle of gin in one evening. She was on a zoom with a friend having ‘Friday night drinks’ and said she didn’t notice how much she was drinking until the whole bottle had gone. Does anyone else think that sounds like a worrying amount? She lives alone and recently lost her job and I’m a bit concerned that she might not be coping very well. It sounds alarming to me but I’m not much of a drinker myself. I’m just a bit worried about her. To avoid drip feeding, I don’t have other specific reasons to think she isn’t coping.

Definitely not something she'd want to become a habit. It sounds like a huge amount for a normal drinker.

I think it’s okay last Christmas I was taking shots of Gordon’s pink gin and over the next three and a bit hours I had drank just about the whole bottle. (Woke up still of my face drunk and fell down the stairs in front of everyone but yeah it can happen.) p.s this was also my first time drinking gin
