@notafanoftheman good shout! I can't believe I forgot about The Office Christmas special...the bit where she opens the present in the taxi 😊

rookiemere · 24/12/2020 08:54

The Motherland Christmas special last night was excellent.

chomalungma · 24/12/2020 08:57

And for Radio 4 lovers - Cabin Pressure one is brilliant!

What is a God Rest?

They try to recreate Christmas in a cockpit because they think they have mucked up the time zones.

EachandEveryone · 24/12/2020 16:46

Father Ted, Blackadder's Christmas Carol and, after last night, Ghosts.

devildeepbluesea · 24/12/2020 16:51

Good shout @chomalungma, I listened to Molokai the other day.

My faves have already been mentioned I think: Father Ted, The Good Life, Dinnerladies, Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder's Christmas Carol, the Porridge one where they get pissed on moonshine.

Kittybakes89 · 24/12/2020 16:59

Both Two Doors Down and the Young Offenders on BBC are more recent but excellent christmas specials

GreenClock · 24/12/2020 17:00

Some great suggestions. I also like the 2 Cagney & Lacey Christmas eps.

ThreeLadsPointingAtAStar · 24/12/2020 17:35

Father Ted
The Office

Not a TV series but there is an Alan Ayckborne play called "Season's Greetings" which is a thing of beauty.

Justcashnosweets · 24/12/2020 17:39

The Father Ted Christmas episode with the priests in the Lingerie department.
The Bottom episode when Ritchie thinks he's the Virgin Mary.
And my all time favorite Gavin and Stacey from series 2.

Justcashnosweets · 24/12/2020 17:40

How could I forget Dinnerladies!

Sewrainbow · 24/12/2020 19:02

I enjoyed and sobbed at the Royle Family Christmas special. Mainly because my dad never saw his grandkids but it was very well written and very relatable to my childhood.

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 24/12/2020 19:09

@evilharpy

Nothing beats Father Ted.

Also love Knowing Me, Knowing Yule with Alan Partridge.

Well, I'm not going to disagree with you.

Ooh pardon!

misslomi · 24/12/2020 19:16

The office when Tim and Dawn finally get together and the original Gavin and Stacy. Plus men behaving badly!

WellThankyouAJPTaylor · 24/12/2020 19:46

Abed''s Uncontrollable Christmas from S2 Community.

ipswichwitch · 24/12/2020 20:02

Father Ted “it’s Ireland’s biggest lingerie section I understand!”. Bloody brilliant😂

35andThriving · 24/12/2020 21:18

Him & Her is good. I haven't got round to watching it this year. Watched the Father Ted one earlier though.

Rory786 · 24/12/2020 21:21

I agree with @rookiemere
The Christmas edition of Motherland was hilarious.

Sparklingbrook · 24/12/2020 21:38

Da Kath and Kim Code is a film but very funny.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 24/12/2020 22:10

The Bottom episode when Ritchie thinks he's the Virgin Mary
