What do you prep ahead of Christmas Day?

Trying to be more organised this year so I can actually spend some time playing with my twins rather than in the kitchen!

What do you do in advance without it having an impact on the quality of the food? I know some people make roast potatoes in advance but chilled and reheated potatoes are never the right texture to me!

The meat can be prepped ready to go in
Pigs in blankets wrapped

Potatoes peeled and chopped and left in a pan of water?
What about carrots and parsnips - can you parboil then roast on the day without them going funny?

I have to make Yorkshire puddings as they are the only things the kids will definitely eat apart from veg, but think I can make the batter and put in fridge overnight?

Got a Yule log for dessert so no prep there

Just trying to think of anything else I can do!

What do other people do?

I make this stuffing the day before and leave covered in the fridge so all I’ve got to do is cook it. www.thesun.co.uk/living/2206325/mary-berry-stuffing-recipe-sage-onion-christmas-dinner-bake-off/

We've made the stuffing, the braised red cabbage, and the cranberry relish.

Tomorrow we'll make the trio of desserts some dumbarse (that would be me) instituted as a novelty our first Christmas here, that has now become a firm tradition - so that's chocolate mousse, trifle, and creme brulee.

Ooh lovely - now I want creme brûlée, but sadly have enough yule log for 14 people and only two of us eating it (major buying error) so probably shouldn’t!

I'm doing more pre-prep this year than normal because on Xmas day I want to just chill out and actually see my family who will only be round for a short time.

My turkey is currently brining, will cook late afternoon tomorrow, along with gammon.
Gravy made a week ago and frozen.
Tomorrow I will peel and chop veg and potatoes and leave in water.
All I will need to do on Friday is heat everything up, and cook the veg/roasties

I'm doing more pre made stuff too this year so just generally less to do (eg red cabbage, custard, party bits for the evening) I'm hoping this will be a new precedent because I feel significantly less stressed this year
