Do You Cry Easily?

I have always been a very emotional person but even more so since adopting DD. I cry at the drop of a hat! I love that I’m softhearted. Sometimes I just have to be thinking about something & it can set me off. I love that DH is a cryer too. He is ex Navy & can come across quite tough but he’s such a softy really.

I cry at adverts!

Worse since I become peri menopausal.

Bloodypunkrockers · 20/12/2020 19:18

I cried at White Christmas this afternoon

knackersknockersknickers · 20/12/2020 19:25

Since having children all the stuff makes me cry; anything involving children or families, animals, anything sad, a lot of things that are happy. I've discovered I love watching TV and crying at soppy happy storylines. That shit Christmas film with Charlotte from SATC in Africa, it was a preposterous story, but I cried at how happy they all were at the end.

nancybotwinbloom · 20/12/2020 19:27

Since having a baby I did. She's not a baby anymore but I cry at anything.

I can't watch anything gory or violent now without looking away.

Deathraystare · 20/12/2020 19:28

Yep. Sad or happy animal progs. Sometimes at the news.

More embarrisingly, at some of those Christmas Rom Coms. What the fuck has got into me> I am embarrased at myself!!

Plump82 · 20/12/2020 19:29

Yep. Have always been a cryer. Im a very emotional person. Its annoying because I also tend to cry when im frustrated/angry which isn't always ideal!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/12/2020 19:30

No. I very rarely cry. I'm not very emotional though, I've got quite a practical head on me.

CorpusCallosum · 20/12/2020 19:34

Cried watching the Strictly final on record this evening "this world is gonna pull though" -->😭

RubyFakeLips · 20/12/2020 19:35

Something changed in my mid twenties and I became someone who crys at everything. I think it might be that was the first time someone close to me died and I experienced such raw emotion.

I wouldn't cry in an argument or confrontation. I'm quite fierce, some people even describe me as tough, which is laughable.

However, I well up at songs, adverts, films, news headlines, artwork by my children. Anything with a light veneer of sentimentality and I'm three kleenex deep.

bloodywhitecat · 20/12/2020 19:36

Not any more. I think i used to be but DP was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few weeks ago and I although I have had the occasional tear I haven't cried for months (this all started back in June and we had to battle really hard to get him seen and treated).

RosieLemonade · 20/12/2020 19:37

I cry at everything. I’m an angry crier which I hate as that takes away from what I’m angry about.

EternalOptimist7 · 20/12/2020 19:43

bloodywhitecat I’m so sorry 💐

I remember watching a Lassie film & embarrassing my Dad because I was crying so noisily in the cinema! We used to have a rough collie so I never stood a chance!

@bloodywhitecat I’m so sorry to hear about your dp Flowers

I don’t cry really, couldn’t tell you the last time I did. Actually I can, it was when my closest friend phoned me in March to tell me her mum had passed away very suddenly from Covid after a week of her really struggling to breathe at home and being refused any help, just told to manage at home and give it a week.
So sad.
Before that, was probably 3 years ago that I last cried.
I’ve said it before on threads, I get angry rather than crying. I wish I could cry sometimes, i feel like that release might make me get over things quicker.

Kendodd · 20/12/2020 19:48

I cried today when my friend told me he'd been vaccinated. He's a doctor on a covid ward, I was so happy and relieved.

FatherChristmad · 20/12/2020 19:48

Yes. It's really annoying

PearlescentIridescent · 20/12/2020 19:48

Yes I cry all the time :/

I cry when I'm happy. I cry when I'm sad and if I'm angry, frustrated or in a confrontation I cry which is very annoying as I obviously don't want to cry. And worst of all I've cried at work! Nightmare.

Trying to get a handle on it but it's just me.

pumpkinpie01 · 20/12/2020 19:53

I only cry when someone has died or when I feel sorry for someone, then I struggle to stop.

suggestionsplease1 · 20/12/2020 20:00

I cry really easily at films, theatre but not for real life things for some reason. It's like I give myself permission to have a quiet tear up then (nobody else would notice) and it's an outlet instead of crying during real world stuff. I think it's probably crying in front of others that I try to avoid.

MaelyssQ · 20/12/2020 20:01

Crying is good, it lets the emotion out and makes you feel a bit better. I couldn't cry when my brother died. My whole face ached with the pain of holding in the tears.

BessMarvin · 20/12/2020 20:03

I cry so easily at sad things or if I'm angry. I virtually never cry at happy stuff. Strange.

crosstalk · 20/12/2020 20:06

No.
Some do, some don't.

HemlockStarglimmer · 20/12/2020 20:15

I've always been lachrymose but it intensified hugely when I had my daughter 16 years ago. It's back to normal levels of weepiness now though.

AfterSchoolWorry · 20/12/2020 20:23

I literally never cry. Not for years.

PearlescentIridescent · 20/12/2020 20:44

Also I should say, I'm a very content and optimistic person (is that braggy? 😅) but I just cry so easily!
