I have a real soft spot for First Wives Club

LilyE1234 · 20/12/2020 20:46

Crazy Rich Asians. It’s naff but made me laugh and cry after a couple of wines 😂

JohnMcClane · 20/12/2020 20:48

YY to Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry met Sally.

Last Christmas is free on Sky Movies, I enjoyed it

nancybotwinbloom · 20/12/2020 20:48

I feel pretty

That's a good one with rebel Wilson I love her

Papergirl1968 · 20/12/2020 20:49

Dirty Dancing, my all time favourite chick flick.

Jackabobbo · 20/12/2020 20:51

Not sure if this counts but I always enjoy... What's it called.. with Anna Kendrick(?) And the Australian woman who was quite overweight but has now lost quite a lot of weight... I'm sorry, I can't remember the name of the film at all but there's actually 2 of them (or maybe 3!) And they sing...acapella.. Confused

JohnMcClane · 20/12/2020 20:51

Dumplin' that's a nice easy watch.

I quite enjoyed Ladies in Black on Netflix

Daisy829 · 20/12/2020 20:52

I love bad moms

Daisy829 · 20/12/2020 20:53

@Jackabobbo pitch perfect agree they are good too

Jackabobbo · 20/12/2020 20:53

Rebel Wilson! That's the Australian woman.

Pitch perfect! That was driving me mad. I'm talking about pitch perfect. Sorry!

Jackabobbo · 20/12/2020 20:54

Thanks daisy!

starsinyourpies · 20/12/2020 20:54

@Jackabobbo Pitch Perfect?

JohnMcClane · 20/12/2020 20:55

Oh Rebel Wilson, She did a film called Isn't It Romantic. That's really funny

OrangeBananaFish · 20/12/2020 20:57

I've just watched Dolly Parton's Christmas on the square. Very cheesy, but definitely easy to watch

I gave up with holidate after 40 mins. Didn't like it at all.

Figgyboa · 20/12/2020 21:03

Bridesmaids
Bad Moms / Bad moms Christmas

Graphista · 20/12/2020 21:19

Last Christmas is quirkily British chick flick, I am a huge George fan and so initially watched it for that but really enjoyed it, especially the relationship between her and her boss

The proposal is an excellent suggestion I love that film Betty white as ever is awesome in it!

Does it have to be a "rom com" cos if not I highly recommend "bad moms" and "a bad moms Christmas" you can even play "spot the mn relationship stereotype" bingo!

Ryan Reynolds before he was too good for romantic films

I don't think he thinks himself too good for them he's just not generally thought of as a romantic lead (unfortunately) deadpool at least the first one is very much romantic.

Life as we know it - sweet little film albeit formulaic in some parts. I love the social worker in it she's hilarious and anything with Melissa McCarthy is usually a good laugh (although I didn't like bridesmaids)

I have a real soft spot for First Wives Club

Me too! Loved it when it first came out but enjoy it on a whole other level since I became a 1st wife!

Practical magic is another

@Jackabobbo - pitch perfect films - they're ace! I've watched them so often I know all their arrangements of the songs better than the originals and wrong foot myself when trying to sing along to the originals when they come on the radio Grin

What to expect when you're expecting is another go to of mine, though I tend to skip forward a certain part as too hard for me to watch.

I LOVE Anna Kendrick total not a chick flick but if you can also try the accountant she's not in it a lot but it's a sneaky surprise of a film.

Lifeisshortandbitterswet · 20/12/2020 21:21

I give it a year. Lovely film x

Aworldofmyown · 20/12/2020 21:24

"Last Christmas"

MargaretHooper · 20/12/2020 21:36

Another oldie: French Kiss (or, as we call it, the tale of a white shirt Smile ). And, chick flick and cheesy: Maid in Manhattan.

nancybotwinbloom · 20/12/2020 21:36

@Aworldofmyown I sobbed after realising what she got

Cornishmendoitdrekkly · 20/12/2020 22:14

I enjoyed Sweet Home Alabama with Reese Witherspoon.

Papergirl1968 · 21/12/2020 08:51

How could I forget Bridget Jones Diary? Its kind of Christmassy!
