If you have pre school/KS 1 DC, what have they done today?

And are they tired? Mine are WIRED. Its driving me fucking potty tbh. Im single, 2dc.

Today: story in bed. 5yr old read a book to me. They helped make drop scones for breakfast and decorated them.
Treasure hunt inside.
Outside by 9.30am, for 2 hours of constant activity and playing.
Home, bath.
Played with ball run while I made lunch.
Painted things for Xmas cards
After lunch, 45 minutes playing a computer game (All 3 of us)
Finished Xmas cards, made Xmas decs, painted and glittered in general.
Quick walk to the shop.
A board game

I've put the tv on and requested they sit and watch it. They are still struggling to be still and quiet. Is it too much to ask? It's exhausting. Sensory overload.

Watched tv, played minecraft, screamed at her sister, shouted at everyone, stomped about, did some colouring for about 2 minutes, repeatedly asked when we are going to do something fun, scootered to the post office, whinged because she didn't want to scooter anymore and I wouldn't carry the scooter, ignored me, tidied up about 2 things only because we told both DC that they wouldn't be able to watch a film tonight if they didn't tidy up.
I assume all the shouting and screaming is because she is tired. She never goes to sleep at a sensible time and she woke up earlier than usual today for no reason. DH is letting them stay up late and watch a film tonight.

I have 2 key stage 1 children and a pre schooler.
Got up and had pancakes. Watched TV. Went for a walk and to the park. Did some Christmas crafts. Lunch. Older two played together while little one napped. Went for another wander to see some Christmas lights. Played a board game, dinner, bit more TV then bath, books and bed.
Older two exhausted from a long term and happy to chill.

I feel like I've been on the go constantly all day. They 're just in bed, one asleep, and I have to go down and tidy the chaos. We did do tidying between activities but still, it's nearly 9pm.

I wish they'd sit and watch tv for an hour!

Got up, breakfast eaten whilst in perpetual bloody motion.
Bus to Dance, literally ran most of the way. Hour of dance.

Bus to supermarket and helped me pack bags. Taxi home.
Made lots of noise, reused to get changed then redressed, eventually did
Walked to Macdonalds and say on a bench outside to eat it largely without shutting up. Walked home.
Got changed as he's jumped in every puddle.
Did some drawing with a virtual monologue.
Nanny visited so showed her his songs, played with her and babies.
Generally didn't sit still even when watching TV, playing with toys, annoying the babies etc. Stripped off and spent rest of night in his pants.
Had dinner so sat stillISH for a short period of time.
Played with babies and watched telly.
Went to bed and refused to clean teeth or put clothes on. Eventually acquiesced.
Generally didn't shut up all day or sit still for more than 5 minutes at a time

ImFree2doasiwant · 19/12/2020 20:58

Ah @SleepingStandingUp you understand. Ds1 Is particularly full of movement and chat. Just putting them to bed and he was chatting to his teddies. Asked to be quiet, chatted quieter, asked again, and repeat til he was just moving his mouth, miming.

Jogging/DANCING on the spot, or just all around the house. When they play , evening "playing nicely" it's just such NOISE. Not necessarily volume but constant. Yesterday evening wasn't great in this house , and today I've made a real effort to do a variety of their chosen activities, and I've joined in all of them, and still have to shoehorn them into bed and tell them to lay down and be quiet and go the fuck to sleep

Oh yes. There are days when I literally have to tell him to shut up. Just stop talking. Please.

I also have 1 year old twins.

He'll come in.
Awww our babies are so cute. Babies
Babies. Babies. Babies. Babies are the best. Babies are the best. Babies are the best. Babies
Babies
Babies

At full volume.

DH does bed time. He reads him a story and leaves him talking to him toys. He literally talks himself to sleep.

I don't know how school make him still!! He's 5 so yr1 so it's mostly sitting still

KatyN · 19/12/2020 21:20

Cried. A lot.

We went out this morning to a drive in panto and walked 10 minutes to see grandma and grandad in their garden.

Other than that she has hung onto me and cried.

She misses her reception teacher and her big brother annoys her. Wish me luck.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/12/2020 21:29

@KatyN so you have a cupboard to lock her brother in? That'll solve half the problem....
