Just me and the cats by the sounds of it. Its not official yet but im guessing theres no travel. Im working until (nurse) til Wednesday so I will have the day to shop to get something in. Will there still be xmas food do you reckon?

I’m the same where I’m now looking to spend it alone as although I’m not in Tier 4 my family are too far away for me to travel to for just the day. My plan is just to ignore the norm festive events of the day completely and pretend it’s just a normal weekend day as I think that will be easier than trying to make it feel Christmas when I’m on my own. Think I’m therefore going to stay in pjs, find a Netflix series to binge watch and eat copious amounts of snack foods sat on the sofa without feeling guilty for wasting a whole day.

If your ward is anything like mine OP, you probably won't want to see anymore sweet food for at least a year!

I can almost see people ringing up saying they cant get in because of this.

I spent Christmas Day alone a couple of years ago as I'd had a very short lived vomiting big and wasn't allowed back to work for 48 hours. And everyone else was away. I drive up the the nearest motorway services and had cake, coffee and a panini. On the basis that I wouldn't look like quite such a loner there.

if you've got nothing better to do, and you're a nurse, why not just sign up for a shift on Xmas day OP? You'll get paid extra (is it double time?)

That’s awful.

I'm having pizza for my Xmas Dinner, my local shop informed me that they will be reduced on Xmas day. Other than that I will be comfortably ensconced in my bed with a good book and my tablet to connect with the outside world.
Just another day chez gingeraaarghpussy. Grin
