Essential oil blend

I have just bought an oil diffuser as I would like my house to smell like a spa!

I can identify the smell when I smell it, but don't know how to get it!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Following!

What is that smell?!

Zebrahooves · 17/12/2020 18:18

I do a combination according to my mood - so one day it will be citrus, tangerine and grapefruit and another sandalwood and cedar wood etc.

Also following for interest.

Ok,so can't replicate a spa blend without smelling it. Essential oils can hit three notes top, middle, bottom. Top notes are light like your fruity types orange, lemon etc. Middles are your lavender, chamomile, geranium etc Bottoms are your heavier scented sandal woods, cedars etc. Any 'blend' is usually a mix of two or three of these.Best thing is start buying yourself oils that you like to build up a little collection say 6 first up to 12 or 25 depending on your interest.Mix your own blend see what you like.

I like, orange,lavender and geranium.
and vetiver, chamomile and cedar.

I love clary sage and lavender.
and anything with rose.

Enjoy experimenting...

Anyone there...?

ElizaLaLa · 18/12/2020 22:06

Please tell me when you find it, I've been searching forever.

I'm also looking for the perfect music, but YouTube just hasn't got one that is exactly right.

I need to know where they get their oils and CDs from!

I don't know how anyone can tell you how to blend a sme they haven't smelled with no real description other than that you smelled it at a spa.

I'd either call them and ask, or I'd pick up a mixed selection of the most popular oils (food quality organic pure essential) and blend to see what I like. Things like lavender, lime, grapefruit, sandalwood and so on. Google blends others are using or look at places like Aromatherapy Associates, their oils are absolutely spa worthy. The deep relax bath oil is my favourite and makes the house smell amazing when I use it.

I love my diffuser and find it very relaxing. I think it's mostly the soft bubbling and whooshing noise it makes to be honest but the room does smell subtly nice.

I know it's a daft question - fully acknowledge that! 😂

Thanks for the advice re where to get good quality oils!

I thought lavender usually features in spa scents because of its relaxing qualities?
