Hot food for a picnic - ideas?!

All I can think of is soup in a thermos but is there anything else that could be packaged up to stay warm? Whenever I've tried before with sausage rolls in foil it's never worked. Am I missing anything or is it just chicken sandwiches and quavers all round and count yourself lucky?!...

A really hearty soup like minestrone would go in a wide mouth flask. Take grated parmesan and ciabatta rolls.

A food flask with curry or chilli and rice. Pour hot sauce over the rice makes it hot enough.

Insulated carriers are the best way to make sure your food stay warm for hours :) They come in all shapes and sizes!

And I you don't want to purchase an insulated basket, you can always DIY a "heat cooler" using hot water bottles, towels soaked in warm water placed at the bottom of your cooler.
