Can you fix brain fog?

CukooClock · 17/12/2020 10:23

I have a post in menopause but I'm hoping a wider audience may have some more ideas

HRT has helped many things but not brain fog.

The only things I can think of to help myself is get some more sleep and try to lose weight and exercise.

Has anyone improved things with brain training or vitamins?

I changed my name and I can't even spell cuckoo any more!

Fasting or low carbing

@parlourpalm - that's interesting. Is there evidence I can read or did it work for you?
Thanks
I could use losing a couple of stones ( waiting til after Xmas) so this could solve two problems.

I have brain fog for a couple of reasons and tend to really notice it's when worse when I miss a vitamin D supplement

I take L tyrosine and Lions Mane for general cognitive functioning and it seems to help. I no longer find myself searching for words or driving along the road wondering where I'm meant to be going.

Get your b12 levels checked as well, brain fog is a symptom

Vit d, magnesium, vit b complex, zinc, along with HRT solved my brain fog.

Brain fog is a symptom of primary hyperparathyroidism, which is nothing to do with your thyroid and everything to do with your parathyroid glands. Just a thought. High calcium is the primary indicator.

I find low carbing really helped me. Also, look at the Wim Hof method. I do deep breathing exercises daily and it has done wonders. It also keeps pain away, for me. He recommends cold showers as well. That bit has taken me a while to pluck up the courage for (I love a hot shower) but done gradually it's doable and I feel amazing afterwards.
Brain fog coupled with anxiety nearly brought me to my knees last year, but this year, despite everything, it has been better since starting this routine.
