What can I take to relax

Is there anything legal that I can buy which will help me to relax and not care so much.

I am a middle manager in the NHS so get work given to me from above and below when my team can't manage it. I have so much work to do it is unrealistic and although I am part time I am working more than full time to keep up. I can't have any extra staff and any mention of workload is met with 'we are all busy'.

I am currently sitting in a car park waiting for DC's dad who has gone shopping instead of waiting for us to do handover, there is no need for me to be sitting here in the cold and I am so cross because I have got loads to do at home on my only DC free evening.

What I would like to do is be able to take something that just takes the edge off of my frustration and makes me feel happy for a change. Alcohol stops me from sleeping and drugs aren't really my thing 🤣

Is there anything out there??

This Works straw check roll on www.boots.com/wellness/everyday-stress/this-works-stress-check-breathe-in-10230266 and Kalms one-a-day capsules

The calm app stories change the thoughts in your head before sleep, st John's wort worked for a while, commit to walking a dog daily helps me get exercise, if you really are buzzing all night and cant relax, well my GP helped me, with ecitoprazolam at a low dose..

Kalms tablets had an effect for me.

I like the headspace app.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have bought some kalms so we shall see if they work for me.

Well, cannabis oil is legal Wink the THC has been removed so there's no 'high', but you'll still feel pretty mellow if you buy a decent quality one.

Hi OP, sorry to hear about your situation. Have you tried any other calming methods as of yet, such as some gentle exercise, yoga, meditation etc? Alternatively, some good stress busters if you have any pent up feelings, could include more high intensity workouts such as dancing to your favourite music, boxing workouts, etc. There are some great calming apps out there that can help too. If you feel none of these work for you, do have a chat with a pharmacist or GP who may be able to suggest alternatives. Wishing you all the best.
