Do you keep a scrap book? What (if any) decorative bits and pieces do you like?

Dd2's Christmas present was an orchid mantis; she's fascinated by it & I've taken photos as it arrived, then last night when it moulted.

I thought, for her birthday on the 28th, I could maybe get a scrap book and some mantis stickers (if I can find some) so she can keep the pics & anything else to do with it together.

I wondered what other bits and pieces any scrap book-ers might enjoy that I could add to it? Not looking to spend loads & dd1 has bought her new pens/pencils for Christmas so doesn't need those.

Tia :)

The Range is really good for scrapbook essentials!
I am part way through making a scrapbook for my friend with all photos of her son. I bought pretty much everything from the range, just bits like coloured card, stickers, stamps, tape with different designs / colours, small embellishments, double sided sticky tape is a must imo rather than glue!

Also I think there is an Arts and Crafts section on here, it might be worth browsing through there to see if anyone has any ideas 😌

I used to scrapbook but haven't done any for a few years.
I used everything and anything on my pages.
I love love love buttons. I use them as much as possible.
Ribbon, brads (aka pretty split pins), tape, sewing, coloured card, mirror card, stickers, flowers, doodling, journaling, velum paper, washi tape, glitter,
Basically everything and anything.

Thank you both; I'll grab an assortment of bits between Poundland and The Works on Friday morning.

The Range is a bit far to be back to stash & get to work for dinner time :(

Kevin, I haven't looked in Arts & Crafts for ages. I'll have a scroll tonight :)

Poundland has loads of bits for this and also have a look on Pinterest for ideas.
Don't discount lovely bits off Christmas wrapping once you've unwrapped the gifts- sparkly paper, ribbons, glittery bits and so on.

lucysmam · 16/12/2020 14:55

YouBringLight, that's a really good idea!

I wasn't sure if it seemed a bit of a rubbish gift tbh.

What about some washi tape (hobbycraft had some nice sets), and maybe some pens? You can get some really nice paper pads (for background or making cute envelopes for keepsakes) in hobbycraft but I’ve also got some much cheaper in the range. I think they were under £3!

My friend makes lovely scrapbooks and sometimes uses fake scrabble letters for page titles. I think she gets them from The Works.

I don’t think it’s a rubbish gift. It’s brilliant to be given something to do.

lucysmam · 19/12/2020 09:42

Just popping back to say thanks for the suggestions!

UnitedRoad, I found the scrabble tiles in The Works.

I picked up glue dots, stickers and some other bits as well. The only thing I didn't see was washi tape so I may let her loose on ebay for some of that of her choosing!

Oh i love these ideas!

I keep a little scrabook. I call it a memory book. i put in tickets to things we have gone in, and postcards and write little vignettes from days out. My Ds has added a few things in it too.
