Recently came off dianette which I took for both contraception and for bad skin. It worked wonders for my skin. It's all flared back up again now that I'm not taking it. There's nothing in these spots, just loads of tiny awful bumps which are very noticeable. It got me really down the last time and it's making me feel the same now, it makes me feel really ugly. It's getting worse as the days go on. My chin is also bad.

My skin is generally dry so the benzoyl cream doesn't work for me. Has anyone had this and managed to successfully get it go away? I really feel like I should be past all this now. I tried all sorts in the past but nothing apart from dianette cleared it up. I'm ttc so not sure what my options would be?

Placemarking as that is like my forehead. No idea but noticed they improve when I cut sugar. That's no fun though Grin

For me, if I cut out dairy it gets rid of them.

I decided that I like cheese more than I hate the bumpy spots, though.

Hi @dramallama7, have you tried products containing glycolic acid? I was TTC in 2017 and had to come off differin cream as it isn't suitable in pregnancy. I was nervous as I'd used it for ages and it worked. I read good reviews about Nip and Fab glycolic fix pads. I've had good results with them and have used them ever since and have never gone back on the Differin (currently expecting baby 2!). Maybe worth a try? Nip and Fab do a whole range of glycolic products. I don't find them drying either.

Thank you for the replies. I must admit I've been having more sugar recently as I'm WFH and having a snack here and there is too easy. I'm so much better when I'm in the office. I also love cheese. I am going to make a conscious effort to cut down though, it's making me feel sluggish.

@covidwoes they look promising and have good reviews so I'm definitely going to give them a go, I'm going to see if I can pick them up from my local boots later this afternoon.

I tried the nip and fab products but they tried my skin out so much it was flaking. It's worse then previously now and getting me so down so I'm bumping this thread in hope for some more advice/recommendations.

Sorry to hear that OP. Are you using a good moisturiser? I use cetaphil rich night cream, which seems crazy for oily skin, but it helps balance everything out.

Rainbowsandclouds13 · 29/12/2020 12:49

Differin gel, available from Gp or over the counter.

I had that, it was actually a fungal infection, just around the hairline. I washed the area with nizoral shampoo and the tiny spots were gone within 24 hours.

dramallama7 · 29/12/2020 14:55

I use L'Oréal triple active nourish for very dry skin and it works really well usually. I might try the cetaphil though with the nip and fab pads and see if that helps, so frustrating! I felt like crying this morning whilst doing my makeup seeing how bad it is.
