hey - im new here. I'll just dive right in.
Have a 3 yr old who was attending a private nursery pre covid.
i lost my job due to covid and she has since been at home with me.
i am looking for her to rejoin her nursery in Jan which is fine with the manager. i was told to look into 15 free hours childcare- i should get a code from my .gov childcare account but there's only seems to be an application for 30 free hours which im obviously not entitled to.
how do i go about claiming the 15 free hours? where do I get a code ?im anxious as i was told the cut off was 15th Dec! any help would be SO great :)

You don’t need a code for the 15 hours as it’s universal. Only the 30 hours needs a code as the extra 15 is means tested.

I go through my council's Child Services department, they are really helpful and friendly. Do you now receive UC? You may also get refunded a % of the remaining fees.

The nursery should be able to apply for you with your child’s birth certificate. Give them a call tomorrow to make sure there hasn’t been some confusion.

If your child is three then you get 30 free hours, it isn’t means tested and is accessible for everyone.

This is not true. 15 hours is available for everyone, the additional 15 hours has requirements that need to be met and if OP isn’t working then she won’t be entitled to the additional 15 hours.

It isn’t available to everyone. There is a specific eligibility criteria. The OP does work so is unlikely to be eligible.

15 free hours will be added automatically by the nursery, 15 additional hours is means tested, with both parents needing to be in work.
