Help needed with heating timer instructions

Graphista · 13/12/2020 12:30

Hoping you clever lot can help me with this have tried several other avenues without success

Wanting to keep my heating costs to a minimum this winter having previously had my heating on permanently throughout the winter which was expensive.

Cannot find instructions anywhere and even asking the people who service it has been no good

I've found a pic of the timer online but cannot find the product code/name and it's not the timer that came with the boiler (that must have broke at some point before I lived here and been replaced)

Pic attached so if anyone has the same set up or can signpost me to instructions I'll be extremely grateful!

I've actually found it more economical to have the heating on low all day. It gets a bit chilly in the evening but no longer freezing in the day.

Presume you've fiddled with the buttons, to try and find the "settings mode"

Topseyt · 13/12/2020 14:34

Is it one that links to Hive? I have ours on Hive and control it and sent the schedule via the app on my phone.

Is there a manufacturer name or logo on it?

Sorry, I'm probably not much help. Someone else might have more ideas.

ImFree2doasiwant · 13/12/2020 14:35

Google image search to see if it brings a brand up?

Graphista · 13/12/2020 14:54

Not possible to have it on low all day

I have "fiddled" to no avail

Not hive, no manufacturer or anything identifying on it unfortunately

Don't know how to google image search? Took me long enough to find the right image!

I can find instructions on how to install, how to set other digital timers just not this one SO annoying!

Ok well I've now figured out "instructions" is the wrong term to use to google and "user guide" is more what I'm looking for - still can't find the one for this specific timer!

Ok, found this one which is very similar do we think user guide for this will work?

Looks the right thing OP, have you tried it?

Graphista · 13/12/2020 16:29

Not yet. My boiler is awkwardly placed and I'm short! It means I have to drag the step ladder out to do it - another reason why just turning it on/off isn't the easiest!

I'm disabled so I have to pick a "good" day for stepladder stuff.

I'm also gonna do myself a "cheat sheet" in BIG writing and stick it up next to the boiler! Cos them instructions are a bit wordy (and that's saying something coming from me!)! Also so they're to hand when I'm balancing on the bloody ladder!

Nothings ever simple is it?

Are you able to get a boiler engineer in to fit you a programmer that is accessible? We have a boiler with a timer but also have a remote programmer that is just in the kitchen on the worktop.

Graphista · 13/12/2020 20:16

@Soontobe60 nice idea but no not an option

Do you live in a rental? If so ask if your landlord will fit an accessible timer. It doesn't cost a huge amount, and tbh if my tenant asked I probably would.

I'm in social housing the landlords don't tend to spend money unless they absolutely have to I haven't the mental wherewithal for the fight at the moment

I used your photo to do a Google lens image search and this video came up, it looks very similar to yours and the video talks you through how to use it. Hope it's helpful.

Sycamoretrees · 14/12/2020 02:32

Try searching for tm6192 user guide, a couple of options come up, I think this is the model number.

I’d say that if you are physically unable to safely access the timer they have a duty to sort it out. I understand about not feeling able to have that battle - is there someone who could deal with it on your behalf?
