Would you take this as a rejection? feeling a bit deflated...

Had a final interview stage for a job I wanted so badly yesterday (no face-to-face interview during the previous stages) and the manager interviewing said towards the end, he would be having a meeting tommorrow morning (today) with the other recruiters to decide whether I was through or not.

Buuut... I've been waiting all day and haven't received a call Sad

I have extreme anxiety so it took a lot of preparing and working myself up to it (included a presentation, which is my worst fear) and I just feel so deflated. I don't think it went too badly considering I'm a nervous wreck but I could have done so much better.

Considering they said they'd be having a meeting this morning, do you think thats a rejection? Would they have contacted me with a rejection or do they usually email if this is the case?

(I've spoken to a few others who have interviewed for the same role and they all heard back the following morning which makes things worse)

My DHL had the same issue a few weeks ago, they got back to him the following day offering him the job. They had spent the time working out finances, HR stuff etc. So may not be bad news . Crossed fingers for you

When I say the following day, I mean the day after they said they would iyswim.

I'd say no news may ultimately turn out to be good news. I've been on the recruiting side of this many times. Sometimes when it's a "yes", it takes a bit longer to get everything signed off because there's paperwork to do, the right person isn't around that day, etc...it used to drive me mad as I knew how stressful it was for the candidate we wanted to hire! But not hearing can be a good thing. Dont give up and I hope it works out for you.

Honestly I’d think they had offered to someone else and were waiting for them to come back before telling the other candidates. But that’s just my thoughts as a recruiting manager as I tend to give myself plenty of time to speak to the successful candidate.
