Painting copper pipes in downstairs toilet - do I paint the silver shut-off valves?

As shown in the pic - do I leave those unpainted or paint the whole lot white?
I imagine they'd still work if I painted them?
Any thoughts?
(please don't ask me to box them in)

Personally i would paint them really carefully but don't get any on the thread. They can still be gripped with a spanner if they are painted white, it's only becomes a pain when there's paint on the screw bit.

My dear dad was a plumber and he would curse painted over bolt threads Grin

Well having had to use the shut off valve after a burst water pipe I wouldn’t want to risk seizing it up with paint. It’s amazing how much water comes out in a very short space of time!

Cover the central part with tape and paint the rest, then remove tape. Or use some white electrical tape in that area ( assuming you are painting pipe white?) to cover over after you do the pipes, from a distance u won’t see it.

Plastic sleeves to cover pipes! Genius!
