If you've been, can you tell me if it was worth the cost? Looking at a booking, it actually seems considerably less (for the week we're looking at, outside of school holidays) than other less luxurious all inclusive package holidays. Would anyone be able to give an idea of what other costs to expect? I would imagine it's mostly restaurants and activities. How much did you spend to do what you wanted? We're quite happy to mostly self-cater, with maybe lunch out some but not all days. We'd like to do pools/beach but with some booked activities (not necessarily every day). And how bad is the airport transfer? It looks about 3 hours (unless you opt for the private plane or helicopter Hmm ).

Would love to generally know what you thought. We've never done a resort family holiday before - usually do city breaks and drag dc along, but honestly after this year, I'm willing to throw some money at it to not have to plan or go anywhere except to drag myself to the beach. We have primary and preschool age dc, if it matters.

Hello, been a few times a d thought it worth the money. But it’s not all inclusive, you can buy some meal plans but not all inclusive. We’ve always hired a car and driven down - about 1.5 hours from Faro airport and an easy drive. On the main road outside the resort there’s a big supermarket so we’ve always done some lunches/ breakfast in as it worked for our children and the sc accomodation is very well equipped. Not sure if pay the premium to go in the school summer holidays as I think it would be too warm for my children but at may/oct half terms and outside of school hols it has been good value. Looks out for deals that include the children’s club as that can add up.

If you want all inclusive btw would recommend the ikos chain!

Thanks, we don’t necessarily want all inclusive, which is why we’re looking there. But just more wanting to get an idea of extra costs to compare to other places (which seem more expensive for all inclusive but not as nice). Basically just want nice villa (not hotel), nice beach and pool and activities we can do but not super busy ‘resort-y’ and built up in that makes sense. We’re going during term time.

We've been twice and loved it. First time was out of school holidays and second in holidays. It was busier during school holidays but still not 'busy' compared with what you'd see at lots of resorts. They have several pools dotted around so nowhere ever feels crowded.

We think it is expensive. Certainly eating out in the restaurants so tend to buy breakfast from the bakery in the shop and then have either lunch or dinner out and the other in the accommodation.

We have stayed in the garden houses and the ocean and prefer the garden with small children as it felt more secure. Though the ocean house was lovely, we prefer the bedrooms to be upstairs.

Also, we've hired a car both times as we also like to go out and about every few days and it's only about 90mins tops, an easy drive.
