Parents not coming for Xmas, going to have to post the gifts- cheapest parcel delivery??

My mum and dad were due to come down just before Christmas but have decided they aren’t comfortable leaving home and meeting up. Mum got a shielding letter at the start and has basically not left home- they are in a different part of UK. We haven’t seen them since January and in my excitement I went a bit OTT with gifts. I’ve just got them out to look at and not only are they bulky they are heavy - mum wanted a book bundle for instance . Anyway I want to post them but I think the postage is going to be eye watering. What’s my best bet for a reliable reasonable delivery service? Any recommendations?

Hermes is probably the cheapest and easiest way.

I just did the same thing at the post office. They gave me loads of options from thirty something pound to twelve pounds and I chose the cheapest. I posted it on Wednesday and she got it on Saturday.

Hermes, they’re pretty shit but as long as it’s not super fragile, it’ll probably make it in one piece.

Parcel 2go is a comparison site for couriers depends on a combination of weight and size most have some restrictions commonest is no bigger than 60cm cube and 15kg, though hermes has a large and light category others take up to 20-25kg, basically it needs to be carried by 1 person

Hermes lose so many parcels.

I've been using UPS and it's bloody brilliant. That won't be more than a tenner up to 10kgs and for 2 quid they will pick it up from your house.

plantsitter that sounds perfect
