Anyone with kids havent got their tree up yet?

We’ve not got one up, and we’re not planning on it this year either.

BearSoFair · 06/12/2020 14:26

We haven't, it'll go up next weekend. DC are a bit older now (youngest 11) but we've always done it 2 weekends before Christmas.

MenaiMna · 06/12/2020 14:34

Up around the 18th down by the 31st for us. It gets in the way in a small house.

stargirl1701 · 06/12/2020 14:35

No tree here. It'll go up on Christmas Eve as normal. DC are 8 and 6.

We don’t have ours up. Always put it up the weekend after my birthday which is this week. DS not too fussed.

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 06/12/2020 14:55

Us

Dh and I are going away until Friday on our own so ds18 and ds16 are going to do it while we are away. I have no idea what we will come home to but they will have fun

userxx · 06/12/2020 15:00

No kids and the fucker is up already. Pine needles all over the place, I'm counting down the days until I can dump it in the green bin.

inappropriateraspberry · 06/12/2020 15:14

No tree yet. Have some lights up with the advent calendar and put some lights up outside today.
Will probably start putting more decs up this week, with the tree being the last thing! I reckon this will all take two weeks doing it around children etc.

bloodywhitecat · 06/12/2020 15:17

Us. Our foster baby moves to his adoptive parents this week and it seems right to wait for them to move. I am worried that they will forever link Christmas and a big change if we put the tree up now. Usually a move would not happen this close to Christmas but there are exceptional circumstances which have made this happen now.

AxeCapital · 06/12/2020 15:30

Me

We have a real one and have a newish built house that is constantly warm, so kills them quickly (despite watering every day).

Got the garland up this weekend but tree will be next weekend.

KittenCalledBob · 06/12/2020 15:32

We're planning to do it next weekend.

DinosApple · 06/12/2020 15:55

Us too. We'll buy it next weekend, then move house, then unpack, then put it up 🎄😂. We're doing the MN combined 'no nos' of packing AND moving ourselves. With a 9 and 11 year old to help... It's going to be festive carnage!

Normally goes up 16th December anyway.

I like to do it the weekend school finishes but DH is keen for next weekend. I seem to be the only one of my family and friends who haven't decorated. Quite a few had them up mid November. Like a pp said putting them up too early takes away the specialness of it for me

Unicant · 06/12/2020 16:32

Me! But we've both got covid now so we are all in the house for 14 days.. so I'm sure we will get it done now lol!

inappropriateraspberry · 06/12/2020 21:49

I always think if it's all up too early, it loses the 'specialness' and will get dusty! 😆
