Stray Christmas cards

So this is pretty dull for a first post but it’s really bugging me!
Christmas cards delivered to my house that aren’t for me. There are three cards addressed to what looks like different family members, in the same handwriting. By airmail, no return address.
The house number and street name are mine, but the postcode is one letter off. I thought the house number was ambiguously written (eg 1 could be 7) so I put them through the letter box for that house - but they were returned through my letterbox this morning.
It’s not the names of the previous owners or the ones before them, as I’ve had plenty of random bits of post for them (plus postcode is wrong?)

I know it’s a bit of a non-issue and I’ll probably just put ‘not known at this address’ and put them back in the post box, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas how I could get them to the recipients? (I’m in London btw, and not exactly a friendly know-the-neighbours kind of area).

Could you check what street the postcode belongs to?

I have, it’s the other end of my street

They'll be for the other end of the street (as per postcode). The sender will have mis-read/wrote the house number from their address book.
It happens a lot at this time of year.
Write 'not known @ this address' and put them back in the postbox.
The Postman may try and match them to the right address or they'll get returned to sender if possible.

Do you ever see your postman? Could you try and catch them when the deliver and tell them, they may well recognise the name and be able to get them to the right address. Or failing that, and depending on how much effort you want to put in, could you look for them on Facebook? I did that recently when we moved into our flat and some important looking post arrived for the previous owners and the agents were useless in helping. They had a very unusual name though... I messaged and they messaged straight back and were most grateful. Since you have three names to go at, you may get lucky!
