I seem to have made a grave error. I taught DS (3, SEN) to make pizza last week. Now all he wants to do is make pizza, all the time. I’m coeliac, so I can’t even bloody eat it!! It’s 9am and he’s already dragged a chair into the kitchen and is waiting expectantly with his pinny in hand. If there’s a national shortage of mozzarella in the next few months, it’s not Brexit or COVID, it’ll be my DS.

Any suggestions for pizza toppings? Think we’ve run the gamut of established combos now!

Have a days of the week chart and put pizza on twice. That way he'll learn pizza on Monday and Thursday. The structure will be important to him

Ok sprout pizza is a bridge too far - those little green fuckers are NOT allowed in my house! Grin

Could you do other cooking activities if he enjoys it? Get something like the Katy I can cook book which is aimed at younger kids (things like chopping herbs with scissors instead of knife etc)
Get him to pick something once a week to cook.

BrieAndChilli · 05/12/2020 10:04

Make a Nutella and fruit pizza
Calzone
Pizza swirls

Littlebelina · 05/12/2020 10:07

You can do sweet pizza (chocolate spread and chocolate drops as opposed to tomato sauce and cheese). Whether this is a can of worms you want tomopen though......

Does he like eggs? Seen pizzas with an egg cooked on top?

As others have said maybe try different cooking with him?

Sorry to sound ignorant, but is coeliac disease where you can't tolerate gluten? If so, could you make pizza using gluten free flour?
Otherwise, I like pizza! But not sprouts. They are the devils work!

We make gf pizza dough and it’s amazing! Here is the link glutenfreecuppatea.co.uk/2020/01/10/gluten-free-pizza-base-recipe-vegan/

My dad bought my sister a real, but child size, took kit when she was about 6 so she could join in when he was fixing things. It had a saw in it.... he probably wished he’d taught her to make pizza instead Grin

Fruit pizza? I remember eating a peanut butter and jelly pizza at Disneyland

EvilPea · 05/12/2020 10:28

We made a pizza with nutella, marshmellows, banana and the crust was stuffed with rolos

I mean, ticks one of your 5 a day

Learningtobehappier · 05/12/2020 10:40

Could you make calzone instead? Then if he's happy making calzone, you could then move onto pasties which gives you more filling ideas? I have a SEN DD and this is the technique I use to get her to transition things.
