Electric car apps?

I thought it would be easier to download them now rather than when I’m at the charging station.

I’ve got bp Chargemaster because that’s the charging station the house is getting, zap-map & swarco.

Anything else I need?.

I've got Pod Point, tells me which ones are near by (and more importantly which ones are free!)

I have all the above plus shell recharge, ecotricity, ionity and charge point.
They were all useless when I went on a long journey.
Ecotricity is in all the main motorway services and despite having set up my credit card on the app it didn’t work. Polar (BP) needed a RFID card.
So from now on, I’m checking where the instavolt contactless chargers are on my long journey as they were the easiest to use. I think shell also have contactless rapid chargers.
Zap map useful to tell you which are working, but don’t seem to have all the chargers on there. (Plus you need rapid chargers on a long journey)

I should have a polar rfid card when they’ve fitted the home charge station.

Free charging sounds great.

Also do you carry the 13A plug lead as well as your usual cable every where or just the type 2 one?.

It depends where you are going and how long the journey.
I only need to charge my car once a week as work is only 10 miles away. So I only ever charge at home, but the other leads are stored in the car anyway.
For a holiday/ long journey I used the 3 pin plug at the holiday cottage and for the journey rapid chargers are the way to go or you would be stopped for hours at a 7kwh charger. Rapid chargers all have their own cables.

The instavolt and other rapid chargers are 40-50 kWh, so a quick 30 minute stop boosted my car by 30% or about 100 miles.
It all depends what your range is and how far you are going as to whether and how long you need to charge for en route.
