My DD in reception told me tonight that a class mate was telling her all about pennywise the clown and a boy George who made a boat that went down a drain and he fell in and the clown ripped his arm off and then ate him. This has made me really sad that my poor girls innocence is being ruined as soon as she starts school.

Who the fuck thinks it’s ok the let a 5 year olds watch that shit?! Or am I somehow being unreasonable to think that is crazy. This girl must have seen it as my DD was very specific about details (boys yellow coat) and there is no way she has come across that by herself by accident. She has no access to you tube or movie channels etc.

A bit bloody fuming to be honest.

A family member let’s their kids watch all sorts of scary films from a young age. They’ve watched things like American Horror Story, IT, the walking dead.
It’s mad!

I have not watched IT myself, no way I would let a 5 year old watch it.
I think children with older siblings end up watching all sorts a bit too early. They want to be grown up.

I only just watched it with my dd12 after much begging and we had to stop. its a 15 I think. felt terrible that one kid in ds9's class had watched it.

All I can think is that some parents have zero imagination - there is no way in hell I’d let my DS watch IT or similar. He’s told me that one of his friends has though (age 10). I’ve let him watch action films that have a bit of blood but fucked up gory horrors - no way.

It could be something they have heard from an older sibling to be honest, my sister made me say Bloody Mary into a mirror as a child and it honestly terrified the living daylights out of me, funnily enough I can’t remember what this Mary was suppose to do now Blush I do remember I was scared at the time though!

Why the hell would a parent let a child watch that?! Those poor kids.

My 7 year old DS was scared when we watched Home Alone the other night so would be utterly terrified of IT.

(He wasn’t even scared of the burglars, it was the old gangster movie that Kevin plays! Grin)
