Why do I keep getting very relevant scam emails - containing info only I should know?

Hello all,
Last week I received a fake (but convincing) email purporting to be from Amazon, saying that the billing address I had recently updated on my account couldn't be verified so could I clink on this link to verify it. Obviously I didn't. However I had in fact updated my billing address on Amazon just an hour or so earlier! I thought it was strange but put it down to coincidence.

However now I have just received a really dodgy looking fuzzy email supposedly from Netflix, telling me my most recent payment has failed. It is clear from looking at the actual senders email that this is not from Netflix. However I had a hour or so earlier logged into my real account and yes a payment has failed.

Although I'm not stupid enough to click on any of these scam links these people clearly have comprehensive access to my private account details! Does it matter (if I can spot these emails and avoid them) or else what should I do? How are they doing this. No money has been taken and presumably they don't have my personal or financial details otherwise they wouldn't be trying to get me to give them via a link.

I get them... Imagine however many people in the world.. Some will have netfilz, TV licence, water bills, etc
If you're worried and have an account login in via the website, not through an email.

It's just a coincidence that it happens to be relevant to you right now. I'm currently waiting for loads of deliveries and keep getting emails from "DPD" about rearranging my missed delivery. I regularly get the Netflix one. This is how they succeed - they catch you when you aren't paying full attention.

My netflix payment fails weekly and my Amazon billing address is changed at least once a month.
I also get them from PayPal in some random language. The card attached to that account expired 7 years ago!

It's just luck when they get someone it applies to!

Are you sure the DPD one isnt correct?

I assumed mine was fake as they had t attempted delivery or left a card.

Except when I logged into account they'd apparently tried delivering 4 times. 3 of which someone was in!

I had one yesterday purporting to come from the Halifax saying my payment to a Mr Adams had failed and to click on an attached link. I don’t have a Halifax account! Rotten scammers everywhere.

I've had loads of DPd ones recently but all from completely random email addresses and asking me to pay for the item to be delivered again.last week I barely went out as my sons been off school so I knew i hadnt missed them.

I get the Netflix one too but I know it’s fake as the account is on DH’s name. I also got one from Lloyds bank the other day. Looked really genuine but I don’t bank with them.

There seems to be a lot more than average going around at the moment .
Just this week I have had emails from
Netflix
Amazon
Car tax
Halifax
And calls from
Amazon
Car crash
Home insurance.

Driving me nuts !

Oh ok, thank you everybody, I guess it's just coincidence then! It's just that these two emails are the only ones I've got so I thought something had to be going on! I guess that's what these scammers count on though isn't it, getting lucky with people like me.
