We had a £30ish John Lewis big non-stick one bought just before at the first lockdown.

One positive side-effect of being stuck at home is that both my husband and daughter have started doing more of the cooking.

Somehow though, they have managed to total the pan - maybe cooking at too high a temperature or not stirring enough. I've tried various things with baking powder and vinegar but it's knackered.

I'm prepared to spend a bit more to get a pan that lasts and I'm prepared to try and look after this one a bit better.

Which pans have you had that have lasted daily usage for more than 6 months please? We have a gas hob and I'd prefer one where the handle stays cool.

I have a tefal, a le cruset and ikea non stock frying pan

Le cruset is much more hard wearing! And has a heavy bottom so cooks better...
tefal is good but doesn't get hot enough for browning high heat etc

Ikea 365 is pretty good I'd say ! I Between the both

But all have lasted well!

JLM copper stone frying pan. Bought in a hurry in Tesco and it's lasted brilliantly.

Just buy cheap and replace when knackered. Read this the other day and it made sense.

"The cheapest non-stick frying pan you can find  – from £3

Non-stick coatings always break, and usually pretty quickly. Once you’ve had the misery of watching an expensive non-stick pan flake and degrade over time, you’ll understand that you should never splash out on anything with a non-stick coating and should instead think of them as disposable, like paper towels, getting uber-cheap ones. But you need them for eggs — it’s so much simpler to fry and scramble them on non-stick. You can buy them at IKEA for £3 each. (Disclaimer: If there’s some health problem with using non-stick pans that you’re concerned about, just don’t use them. I haven’t looked into that.)"
