DM is reporting people who have holiday homes abroad and want to visit will only get a 90 day visa.

The official UK Government guidance on the new rules states: 'From 1 January 2021, you will be able to travel to other Schengen area countries for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa for purposes such as tourism. This is a rolling 180-day period.

'To stay for longer, to work or study, or for business travel, you will need to meet the entry requirements set out by the country to which you are travelling.

'This could mean applying for a visa or work permit. You may also need to get a visa if your visit would take you over the 90 days in 180 days limit

Apparently they are 'new rules'

It's mildly amusing to see this being raised now.

What did they think would happen?

Think of the fish.

Who is 'they'?

Presumably the vast majority of Brits living in Europe didn't want Brexit, and believed, as was the rhetoric, that a suitable deal would be struck that allowed them to continue living in Europe.

I don't think its amusing that people who didn't want Brexit are going to suffer as a result of it.

Who is 'they

They being the Daily Mail.

Plus the people who are complaining who have holiday homes abroad.

It's not like it's news about what was going to happen. And now the DM is raising it as an issue.

Is that one country or multiple out of interest. Like if you do 90 days in your rolling 180 across 3 EU countries

I think the tourist 90 days is for all the EU.

But if you want to work or stay longer, then it gets complicated.

Well that's the point, it wasn't always bound to happen. A deal could have been struck.

It's only as we hang on the knife edge, without a deal, that circumstances have crystallised.

It is news about what is going to happen. I don't see your issue, other than that it's written by the Fail maybe.

It's 180 days within the Schengen area. So you could spend all of your 180 days within one Schengen area country, or spread out across many of them.
