It's my pet hate list, and I own it all this morning

If I am browsing for boots on eBay. I do not want to see someone's big fat legs squashing the boots in the gallery pics. I do not want to see the inside of the boot being displayed by someone who couldn't be bothered to wash their hands first showing a big fat dirty fingernail on the boot I am looking to purchase.
It puts me off.
Similarly if I am looking at dresses on eBay, I don't want to see your fat size 16 body in a size 12 to 14 dress that I could have bought but won't now since the image of your back fat will live in my head forever.
It puts me off dear.

Seriously. I have been looking this morning and realise that it's the photos of the person selling the stuff that ruins the image of me wearing it.

if you are selling something for a woman why does there have to be a man's hand holding it, and not only that a builder's hand ??

Some people's salesmen :)

It would put me off as well OP especially the dirty fingernails as I'd assume they weren't clean people / the items might not be clean.

With regards to the fat people I would be worried that the clothes had stretched. That's what's happened with some of my clothes because I've got fat! Also I don't model clothes I'm selling because I know I don't make them look good.. Because I'm fat!

I’m not suggesting the post was nice, it is not. But just that fat is fat. I am also fat, I have my reasons for being so, but I am still aware that I am.

I was just trying to put the point across that although not being very nice about a size 16 squeezing into a dress that’s what it is about. It wasn’t a post saying all fat people are disgusting.[/quote]
I'm not denying I'm fat or that size 16 is overweight. The Nasty OP is written with the attitude that being fat is as repulsive to her as being dirty.

Lucy830 · 30/11/2020 12:34

@UsernameN0Tavailable

It would be very sad if the OP thought all size 16/18 or just fat people in general were disgusting.

I can see how you would be upset if that’s the take home message you got but I’m sure most people don’t feel that. I do not.

Also, with a bit of context, I’m sure they’d change their tune. I am a medical professional that could save a persons life, I’m sure OP wouldn’t be as disgusted if I was treating her or a loved one.

It’s not a nice outlook to have but being slimmer is a more idealistic look, if only for health reasons.

I think the goady language was intentional and you lot are just taking the bait.

@heydoggee

Size 16 is the U.K. average. It's not fat.
Size 16 may be average but it is definitely fat.

And before anyone trots out the "Marilyn Monroe was a size 16" stuff, her measurements were 35-22-35. She was tiny - not even close to a modern day size 16.

NeonIcedcoffee · 30/11/2020 12:44

@Anordinarymum

Oh.. and I don't mean any offence to anyone who is a size 16. I am not an 'ist'
Yet you just said you don't want to see a fat size 16 body.

You sound fucking charming.

NeonIcedcoffee · 30/11/2020 12:44

Actually scratch that op you sound like a total fucking cunt.

LindaEllen · 30/11/2020 12:45

You sound like an absolutely vile person :).

You must be fucking joking.

Did you read your nasty brain fart before you posted it?

helloxhristmas · 30/11/2020 13:13

Go and buy stuff in the shops then.

missmouse101 · 30/11/2020 13:22

Your language is horrible. I'm fat and it's so, so hard to change my ways. I already feel so low about it. I would hate to see dirty fingernails and hands in the photos but I suggest you just buy new clothes from shops or websites and stop the vitriol.

timeforanewstart · 30/11/2020 14:06

And the point of this post is ?

OhMsBeliever · 30/11/2020 16:32

I think the point of the post is if you're selling on eBay the consider what the pic is showing, because you don't want to put people off with your grubby fingernails or by squeezing into clothes too small for you.

Which are both valid points as far as I can see.

And I don't think the OP is a size 6 as she's looking at buying size 12/14 clothes.

Size 16 is fat, I'm fat, and someone saying so on the internet doesn't upset me.

Mrsjayy · 30/11/2020 16:37

Maybe look for clothes in your size as fat clearly offends you or buy new Confused

NeonIcedcoffee · 01/12/2020 21:25

How is this thread still up?

Thank you for this. You put it so much better than I did :) I sincerely did not mean to offend anyone. Maybe it was worded badly or maybe the point was lost. However. I do apologise wholeheartedly to anyone who took offence at my lighthearted post

Imapotato · 08/12/2020 12:38

Whether or a size 16 is fat will depend on body shape. If you are a voluptuous 5ft11 and a size 16, you’re probably not fat. I on the other hand at 5ft3.5 would be very fat. I’m a size 10-12 and I don’t look thin!!

I get the OPs point that it was how the clothes were presented. Not getting at people who are a size 16+, but not understanding why you would squeeze into clothes that are too small for you to advertise them on the internet.
