Give me some fun family board games that would suit ages 3 + please!!! One that could last for years to come so maybe not so much emphasis on the 3 year old but at least 5 maybe!

Snakes and ladders or similar

Frustration or Ludo. Yahtzee, obviously the kids won't be able to do the maths but you can play in teams so you could play with one adult and one kid and let the kids throw the dice. Orchard games are good for that age range too. Also Dobble suits any age and is very fun. Another one if you can find it is the balancing chairs game. It's literally a box of small plastic chairs you have to stack until they fall. Great for all ages and no real advantage to being older.

Not a board game but frustration is fab!

I second Dobble for one any age can play, and that will last years. Several games in one with that.

Age 3 is a little tricky, games they can play properly now won't last until they're much older. But the orchard games are really good. Pigs in pants was probably the longest runner in our house.

For ages 6+, Throw Throw Burrito is really fun, total chaos, but fun. Also Exploding Kittens, Munchkin (little ones will need some help until they get used to it) Connect 4, and Downfall have all been popular.

Labyrinth is great too. A 3 year won’t have strategy yet but will enjoy pushing the pieces around until they get more competitive.

One of the best things in our house (with lots of games) has been a deck of cards - from simple pairs/snap and a game we call King/Queen/Jack which is very simple to more complex games with preteens and teens now.

Can anyone tell me how Frustration differs to Ludo? My daughter really enjoys Ludo so I thought about getting Frustration but they seem to be the same thing.

Agree with labyrinth. Also get baby Carcassonne then you'll be able to move on to the full set earlier.

But three is young for board games, bthr good ones kick in in juniors (about age 8) imo. You've quite a few years of boring Pop to the Shops ahead of you!

Oh, should have added cooperative games are useful, as you play together it can be a bit older. Things like max the cat and snowstorm.

Outfoxed is a good one as you are all on the same side against the fox so there is less flouncing off and throwing of the board...

Frustration comes with the awesome domed dice thing. That, IMO is enough of a reason to get it. Grin

Not for adults but im buying "Dont get got" for a relative this year.

I also looked at Paladone which some older kids might get. You all get a Kazoo to play. Sounds amazing.
