Do paramedics get feedback if they miss something important?

DH called 111 last week as he had a stomach ache, had been going for 4 days at that point. 111 called an ambulance, the paramedics were very friendly but after examining DH, listening to his stomach and feeling it, they concluded he probably just had a bug and should call the GP if not better within 5 more days.
The next day DH spent another day in bed in pain so I took him to the out of hours GP who told him to go straight to A&E for a CT - he was then diagnosed with a bowel obstruction.

Are the paramedics likely to get feedback? I think they should not because I want to complain but as a learning experience.

Difficult.

It could be that in the 24 hours between seeing the paramedics and the GP the situation had become more obvious. I do agree it may be useful for them to know what the issue was so they look for it in the future but equally you don't know if the GP had seen him first that he'd have also concluded it was a bug.

How is he now OP. A friend had a bowel obstruction years ago it and was obviously exceedingly painful. Hope he feels better soon.

Paramedics aren’t doctors. They are trained for emergencies and to get patients to the hospital in the best condition for doctors to diagnose and treat.
They would have worked on the observations they could see and the answers your husband gave.
If you are genuinely concerned the paramedics didn’t do their job properly, then of course you have the right to raise it.

Personally, I’d let it go,be grateful you this is ok and move on with you life.

A GP may have said the same thing if they had examined him that day.

If your DH was able to let them examine him and they listened to his stomach, it is more likely that his condition deteriorated afterwards.

I would be concerned if they hadn't done observations or examined him, but it sounds like they did check him over.

I hope he recovers well.

It's such a complaint if I was those paramedics I would want to know? Wouldn't anyone?.. Any doctors or consultants should surely welcome this sort of feedback?
