Reusable period pants/ pads

wonderpants · 28/11/2020 14:37

I'd like to get some washable period pants or pads as an investment for my teenage girls.
Anyone know how I wash them? Do I just stick them in with a dark wash or do they need washing separately? Do they need rinsing first?
Any recommendations on brands?
Thanks

I find Thinx knickers are great.

Anything above a v.light flow just rinse them under cold water first before machine washing (this should really be done by the person using them).

Wash them either with your underwear or even in a normal clothes cycle, 30c is fine.

I've tried various pads. The best came from honouryourflow. I've heard good thinks about the mobibodi pants

I do the same with my pads, rinse in cold water and then pop in normal wash. They still look good as new many years later. I don’t tumble dry them but you can. Mine are dark grey. I’d avoid white ones but they’re very easy to look after! Even my amazon cheapies!

DD uses Modibodi, they are expensive but work really well for her as she's only 11.
They need to be rinsed in cold water first then machine washed but don't use fabric softener ans you're not supposed to tumble dry them either

So if they had a bag, they could rinse them, put them in a wash bag and into the washing bag. DH does all the laundry so want to make it easy for all of them.

DD uses modibodis since nearly 2 years. You can rinse them in cold water but what I do is I just put them each day in the washing machine on a rinse programm and then a cold wash.

No fabric softener, no stain remover, no tumble dryer.

They do take a bit to dry though.

They last a school day so no need to change during the day.
