Mucus plug at 27 weeks? Positive preterm labour risk test.

I’m currently admitted to hospital, i noticed some discharge that was different and my first pregnancy I was preterm only by 4 weeks my son was fine, my second pregnancy I made it to 39 weeks (I fell pregnant again seven months after having my
Daughter and I’m now currently 27 weeks)
They did the test swab on me to detect if I could go into preterm labour and it came back positive. I was in bits all day but they’ve reassured me that I was low on the scale, a negative result is 50 or lower and I scored 90 so they said it’s still a low risk but still a positive because over 50 just not high and I’ve had the first steroid injection so far and have my second today!
Anyway I’ve lost bits of what seems to me like mucus plug I just wanted too see if anyone else thought it was too?
I showed the midwives and they didn’t seem to worry too much however when I lost the mucus plug with my son I went into labour the next day! So I’m worrying! One midwife said it grows back and this could actually be thick discharge and not too worry myself.
They did check my cervix yesterday after they did the preterm labour swab and said it was closed, so fingers crossed it’s remaining closed :(

Try not to worry. I can't remember the exact figures but I believe a positive is still only about a 20% chance of going in to labour in the next 2 weeks (a negative result is much more accurate). Mucous plug/heavy discharge doesn't mean much. But if you start having any pains let them know straight away as there may be treatment they can give to try and stop labour.
