Struggling families

I'm in an incredibly lucky position financially. My partner is a key worker and worked throughout lockdown while I was furloughed and looked after the children. Since the children went back to school I've worked and earned more than I usually do at this time of year.
So.... I'd love to help a family or two that are struggling, preferably anonymously, financially or with gifts of food, presents for children etc. But how do I find them? There are those that get free school meals, but obviously schools can't give details out. Then there are those who may not be entitled to free meals but are now struggling as a result of covid. Any suggestions?

Give to a foodback. Do you have any local charities?

The night before Christmas campaign? Buys presents for children who otherwise won’t get any.

Find a charity that does that.

There’s one here that collects presents for kids every year... Or my friend just bought presents for a woman in a woman’s aid refuge, they’d appealed as apparently people donate presents for children but not the women.

Maybe start by putting an item in the food bank trolley at the supermarket when you're doing your shop. I do this, it sometimes says what they need most which normally includes things like deodorant, rice pudding and little treats for children.
Also women's refuge accept lots near Christmas, can even be used clothes and toys if they're in good condition.
