Has anyone else experienced generalised anxiety

Im a first time mum to an 8 month old little girl & I don't know if it's from being on maternity leave, or just this year in general but I've felt anxious alot.
Also, does anyone else experience nausea when anxiety hits?

I have GAD. Diagnosis from GP. It was particularly bad during my kids early years and has dissipated a little now they are older. I have used citalopram (low dose as high dose made it worse for me) on and off for short periods of time. I definitely had nausea with it, but dont rule out any other causes. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. GAD is pretty horrible.

I’m not diagnosed, but I’m 100% I have it. I’m extremely anxious and always have been, since childhood. Can’t remember being different. It’s much worse after having children. Yes, I can feel nauseous. I can eat too much or having no appetite for days. Heart palpitations, numbness, headaches, restlessness, insomnia. These are the physical symptoms I feel when I’ve got anxiety attacks.

I had a diagnosis of GAD for a while until they decided it was actually anxious (avoidant) personality disorder.

There's loads of physical symptoms relating to my anxiety, nausea is one.

I found a low dose of sertraline with some beta blockers for really bad days has worked best for my anxiety symptoms, but really the best thing has been a good diet, regular exercise, good sleep cycle and CBT/mindfullness.

Yep. CBT was fantastic for me.

But I am also the mother of an 8 month old DD and it’s really hard to know what is unnecessary anxiety and what is genuine concern for your baby. Choking / SIDS etc - where is the line between worrying for the right reason and becoming a bit obsessed with it.

It’s hard to know. And it’s very hard to have done it in lockdown when we have basically been by ourselves with almost no support.

Hi OP, I have abdominal and digestive issues when I am anxious, in fact I think I have health anxiety where I must move from one illness to another, it's so draining

My anxiety has been so bad this last week that the nausea has meant I have hardly been able to eat, certainly not a full meal.

@ShirleyPhallus

I was certainly much more anxious when my children were babies, having kids seems to set anxiety into overdrive. Unfortunately both of mine picked up on it and are now anxious teens, so I try to lead them by example by showing them how best to manage anxiety, give them the tools to manage it so to speak.

When my anxiety hits my stomach is in knots, my heart races, my brain rolls round and round and I shake.

I'm on amytriptiline, propranolol and diazepam
