So I looked at my credit score today. There's a ccj from December last year for around £1k. I am horrified. I can't find an account it's linked to on my report either.

Any advice gratefully received!

Contact Northampton county court bulk centre (they deal with online applications for ccj’s) and ask them to email you the particulars of claim and the address the paperwork was served at. This will then show if it was served at an old address, who the original lender was (debt has probably been bought by someone like Lowell) and can be the basis for you disputing the ccj.

If you are on Facebook there is a group called “Bailiffs, Debts & Bills” the admin there are hot on ccj’s and will help with getting it set aside (taken back to claim form stage) and defending it.

Thank you x I think the debt might be old style student loan but I'm not sure. There's nothing on my credit report!

Call the ccbc 0300 123 1056 as soon as the voice starts talking continuously press 4, it will put you through to an advisor, give them the case number and ask who the original creditor was, they might give you a company name which you don't recognise but this may just mean that company brought the debt, but if you speak with them they will be able to give you all the details xx
