How long should a CV be?

There is no application form and I could do a short covering letter but they’ve just asked me to send over my most recent cv! It’s to do some occasional lecturing at a university- I already have a job but want to get involved with this particular institution.
Mine is currently 3 pages - education, employment, further training and experience, personal statement (covering details of skills, character and interests) and references.
Is this all wrong? I’m in a senior position now but it was a structured application form that got me this job and it’s been a while since I’ve done a cv. Thanks

3 pages is fine for an academic CV. I had a longer CV as a postdoc than I do now after decades in Industry! It's all the publications and details of your research.

Yeah. I probably shouldn’t have used an academic example
Tbh I hadn't looked at your example and was just signposting the OP to a useful resource. One I used an awful lot when working as a careers adviser. When I moved into academia I found the CV template very helpful.

Yeah. I probably shouldn’t have used an academic example

but OP is talking about an occasional lecturing job at a university so academic examples are relevant. As it is not full time and is lecturing only, your moderate length academic example was probably a pretty good example! OP may not need a 7 page academic cv for occasional lecturing but the expectations may still be closer to academic than the standard 1-2 page advice. (that was a lot of maybes! I am not a careers advisor and can not guarantee anything I say is correct...)
