I want to send my mum some flowers - can anyone recommend a good company please?

Around the £40 mark I think if it helps to know budget.

Arena Flowers are lovely!

ForTheLoveOfCatFood · 20/11/2020 14:20

Bloom and wild
Always vouchers off and last ages!

Finfintytint · 20/11/2020 14:20

I have used Eflorist fairly recently. They do same day delivery too. I ordered some flowers for a friend who’d been bereaved in the morning and the flowers were waiting for her as she returned from the hospice. Very impressed.

Also wild and bloom or (bloom and wild, which is it?). Letterbox always seem like they’ll be better value as the delivery will take less of the cost.

madhatternoteaparty · 20/11/2020 14:22

I had some from bloom and wild, they were limp and pathetic so I wouldn't use the. I'd phone a florist local to your mum and get them to do a bouquet delivery.

Itscoldouthere · 20/11/2020 14:23

Use a local florist rather than the big order gathers you'll get more flowers for your money, just google a florist near your mum and phone or use their website.
Honestly I'm a florist !!

GreyishDays · 20/11/2020 14:23

Bloom and wild. Catfood is correct, I just checked. Should have done that before I posted.

HipHopBanzai · 20/11/2020 14:24

Bloom and Wild. There's always a voucher online somewhere and they're lovely. They last ages too.

Itscoldouthere · 20/11/2020 14:25

Sorry but as a gift who wants to receive a flat box of flowers you have to arrange yourself? Surely you want a fully arranged bouquet?

NeverEnoughTea · 20/11/2020 14:26

Sent my mum some Bloom and Wild flowers and they died within a day of arrival!

It’s good if you’re not sure the person will be in.

Freddie's flowers are beautiful and a but different to bloom and wild. It's a subscription but so easy to cancel straight away or you could send her a couple of bunches - really cancel or delay/miss weeks. I have them monthly as a treat.

They are £25 per bunch but I have a referral code where you get your first box for free - NataliH90

They last over 2 weeks. You can cancel after your first box too. Just email them and say you're cancelling and they sort it straight away.

Itscoldouthere · 20/11/2020 14:31

I think I'd be more interested in getting a nicely arranged bouquet than worrying about 'not being in' it's the OP mum, she might have an idea as to when it would be a good time to deliver.

I order Freddie's flowers once a month - LOVE THEM!

Surely now of all times, one should make a bit of effort and support local business?
Anyway I will say no more (just to clarify I'm an event florists so don't do gift bouquets so I'm not arguing for myself) I'm just surprised that people always recommend the easy 'Amazon' type option.

Literallynoidea · 20/11/2020 14:40

Not Bloom and Wild, not M&S - both crap.

Arena Flowers are good though they use Yodel. Moonpig also surprisingly good.

Fauvist · 20/11/2020 14:42

I gave my mum a year of Arena Flowers for her birthday. It is £20 inc carbon-neutral delivery for a bunch of flowers that is frequently so big that we end up dividing it into two. They do single bunches as well and aim to be as ethical as possible (eg all staff paid a real living wage and they plant trees and support charities with every bunch sold).

Thank you everyone.

Googling florits near my mum right now

I would do as a pp suggested and call a florist near her, that way you're supporting a local business and you will get a much bigger & nicer bunch of flowers that hasn't had to travel far! I always do this now after being disappointed with all the big delivery services.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 20/11/2020 14:45

X-post! Grin

Yeah you are right, sometimes someone's got to spell out for me to wake up.

Freddie's will now be cancelled for a bit and I'll find a good local florist DaffodilConfusedStar

LutherRalph1 · 20/11/2020 14:46

Apple yard flowers

frazzledasarock · 20/11/2020 14:47

I've sent flowers form blossoming gifts , they are price than most but their flowers were stunning.

Also have used bunches a lot in the past, their flowers are lovely too and they send chocolates with the flowers.

I must say I prefer bouquets being delivered or flowers in pots rather than packed in boxes.

wellerhugs5 · 20/11/2020 14:51

Another vote for Bloom n'wild. Letterbox flowers are lovely xxx

HasaDigaEebowai · 20/11/2020 15:15

I've just bought a bouquet from Shida. They're dried arrangements that last up to a year and they're beautiful, very on trend and since they last so long, extremely cost effective.
