Can I buy vouchers for Australia from here. ?

I've just sent my Christmas parcel to my relatives in Australia, and it cost £30. I know it's the otherside of the world but I can't afford it. I had to actually take some things out as it was too heavy and would've cost £84 otherwise Shock. So never again, I'm sure I paid £18 last year, but £30 is more than the stocking filler type gifts for the kids are worth. Now they are teenagers it's getting harder to buy for them, although I enjoy buying bits throughout the year. So maybe just sending them a e- vouchers could work ? Can I do this from the UK? And what vouchers can I do?

Otherwise I'm literally just sending one T-shirt, but clothes are hard for teenagers and knowing the sizes.

Buy some Australian dollars and send them instead?

I've sent gifts (including vouchers) from Amazon Australia before, no problem. I must say I noticed their prices can be high, and the product range available was less.

I live in Australia and my family are in England. I do this the other way round all the time. I haven't posted parcels for years as it's just too expensive.

I either organise gifts that aren't physical (eg buying vouchers online, or calling a local beauty salon to organise a pedicure voucher, for example) OR I have something online delivered to another family member to wrap and gift - eg at Christmas my mum will receive my dad's present in the post and wrap for me, and vice versa.

I'd much rather put my money into the gift rather than postage.

You asked which vouchers. Most Australian cities have Westfield shopping centres, so vouchers for there may work (just check your relatives are near one), then they have lots of choice. Otherwise, you could try Prezzee www.prezzee.com.au/ which has a good range of stores.

Sorry to highjack the thread slightly. Does anyone have any similar thoughts about sending stuff from the UK to New Zealand? I’ve got relatives there and it costs me a fortune in postage for birthday and Christmas presents.

Amazon would work yes thanks ! Or will check the shipping centres thanks, they are quite far out but have to go into the city for big shops.

@Phyllidakettle depending on who you're buying for, you could get vouchers for Farmers (dept store chain - www.farmers.co.nz/gift-cards/buy-gift-cards)

Lady in the post office advised us to split our parcel into 3. Worked out a third of the price sending them separately.
We like Australian amazon. And they have Toysrus that deliver.

Superdooper, thanks for that.
