Watercolour pencils

Hi all
Has anyone used these?

I see lots of different price points on eBay. I spent the bare minimum on oil pastels and ended up buying a better quality set as the cheap ones were so bad, so I’d be interested to know if anyone recommends any particular brand.

Thanks.

I used it in the past, and it was quite expensive one, from my native country.
I wouldn't go for cheaper version if you want the best result.

Thanks
It’s just for recreation at the moment.

I use Derwent Inktense, fabulous colours which become ‘fixed’ once dry.

Second Moooooo.
The colours are lovely and vibrant

Yes you won’t go wrong with good old Derwent. Made in the UK and with a long history. It’s a very convenient medium and can produce lovely work. Like all things the more you practise the better the result. I believe most Derwent pencils are lightfast but if in doubt don’t hang your masterpieces opposite the light. Cass Art sell good quality art materials at discounted prices and their service and deliveries are good.

Derwent Inktense and Faber Castell's Albrecht Durer range.

I guess Derwent is the winner. Seems pricey but 12 colours will be enough for a bit of downtime activity, I guess?

I can quite into colours. The last thing I did in paint was just....turquoise blue 😂

These are here and I’m a bit disappointed but probably I need to learn more about blending them

Green and red seem very lacking and there seem to be three grey/black, which is a lot from a pack of 12. The red and orange are virtually identical.

That’s just from me doing a quick trial last night. I’ll draw something tonight and perhaps it will all make sense.

You can buy individually to make up a set.
