Are they reliable? Do I need to see someone ASAP? I can't believe it.

Dear Friends

Please can you suggest where I might take my 80 year old mother for her birthday?

My father had a heart problem earlier in the year and was hospitalised but instead of curing him they gave him Covid too! He's lucky to be alive now and got over the infection but is left incapacitated so struggles talk and walk for any length. Since March we have not gone out anywhere! I as their son do all the shopping.

I've bought a wheelchair for dad and since he missed his birthday I hope to surprise both mum and dad with a joint birthday treat by taking them out!

We live in south London near Balham but can travel. Dad has been asking what the Christmas lights are like this year but I don't think he realises how cold and dark it is now!

Any suggestions where I could take them somewhere nice with low risk of Covid and with wheelchair access in London that both an elderly woman and man would enjoy?

@IAskU - you need to start your own thread.

@Fressia123 - I got pregnant while on the copper coil. I've no idea of the statistics for it causing problems if conception does occur, but I recommend you do get medical advice ASAP. I lost my pregnancy at about 7 or 8 weeks.

Youdefinitelyneed to see someone, it is quite possible you are pregnant, no contraceptive is 100%. If you are, and decide to continue, they will remove the coil if they can without harming baby. The further along you are, the harder it is to remove, so you need to book an appointment ASAP.

Yes, you absolutely must speak to your GP surgery tomorrow morning. Not only for the reasons stated above but if you have conceived then there is a possibility that your IUD has displaced. In that case, it would need to come straight out, even if you had decided on a medical abortion.

Yes I'm seeing them today at 1020. I have my own fears that the HPT at the surgery won't be positive (I just and a faint line at home).

Oops I thought I had started a new thread. I'm so sorry I'm a newbie and it was my first post on this! Any ideas how and where I could start the thread in the correct part of MumsNet?
