We always get one in a pot, with roots. We get them towards the end of November and they are always fine.

Toilenstripes · 18/11/2020 15:50

They do tend to get crispy if you put them up too early, but our real one is being delivered next Saturday, 28 November. Do you have yours?

Aurorie11 · 18/11/2020 15:50

Yes, if you plan to keep it up until 12th night, as it would be 7 weeks would be as dry as anything

I think so. We get at the very begging of December and by 1st jan it is a dead looking thing

It's too early for any kind of Christmas tree. For heaven's sake it isn't even December. At least give what's left of November and early December a chance to see themselves out!

We get ours from a tree farm so it’s more recently cut than eg a supermarket one (often cut early to mid October). It lasts 6 weeks in the house, and is still going strong outside in late February when I finally get around to getting it recycled! So I’d say, no, it’s not too early if you buy from the right place.

Not if the crowds at my local country store are anything to go by Confused

Personally I think it is too early for a tree of any kind. But I saw a woman buying a real tree in a pot at Aldi the other day., so some people obviously don't think that. I can't imagine it won't be dead as a doornail by Christmas but who knows.

Isadora2007 · 18/11/2020 16:15

It’s too early for any Christmas tree. Yes it’s been a crap year but why can’t people just bloody wait instead of needing their instant gratification all the time.

Viv0321 · 18/11/2020 17:07

It would be cut from a farm so should be fine

Potted ones tend to last longer in my experience. If you pot them on after Christmas there's a chance they'll survive until next year
