Do you ever wonder if your perception of a stressful day is the same for everyone?

I'm starting to get more and more stressed during a normal working day - I'm peri-menopausal.
Yesterday I felt like crying twice during work which is not like me usually - a real panicky feeling of being overwhelmed.
It got me wondering whether my day really is stressful or whether I can no longer tolerate stress.
Could you give me some scenarios of stressful experiences at work so that I can use them as a barometer for what I perceive as stressful - or is it a pointless exercise given that everyone perceives stress differently?

Thanks @JMAngel1 It's definitely having an effect on my Blood Pressure. Thing is I have high BP usually (on daily medication, no known cause) but I'm completely chill about everything and nothing stresses me out. I'm like the most laid back person most days.

2020 though? Noooo. Nope. Naw. I'm done.

You feel what you feel.

I have the opposite problem. Having done an extremely stressful job in mental health services for a number of years (think running between bedrooms cutting ligatures of people trying to end their lives, and constantly worrying that someone in my care would die) I now can't get particularly fussed about thinks that probably should stress me, like attending court to give evidence. I feel a bit dead inside tbh.

Gosh, that does sound lime you're burnt out - or maybe it's your body's coping strategy to be numb?

I used to have a more stressful job, dealing with the public in extreme situations. But I worked in a team who all did the same thing and we supported each other and let off steam together. I did it for 15 years. My job now has a lot of responsibility but less interaction and I feel unsupported and like no one has my back. I am burnt out. I am also perimenopausal but I still put most of my current stress down to my job situation.

The most stressful job I’ve had wasn’t the work, it was micromanagement. It had a terrible effect on my self esteem and mental health. The job was easy and something I’d done for many years before a new manager came in and micromanaged everything down to the finest point possible. You don’t need to justify your stress, if you feel it, it’s real. Is there anyone in occupational health you can contact for support?

I do one of the stressful jobs mentioned up thread. It is absolutely crazy to the point you would not believe the things I deal with on a daily basis, each shift feels like a week in normal people's lives.
However, I do enjoy my job it is my home life I find pure stress. Because I give SO much to my job that the stresses of family life with 2 of us working full time is sometimes just too, too much.

If someone could come and take some of the pressure off at home, that would be great.
