Imagine being the removal crew if they pay for packing. Probably a very nice house once it's empty.

Good grief! That is frightful!

CarrieMoonbeams · 17/11/2020 08:48

It's very neatly done though isn't it? Look how it's all arranged in the kitchen, for example.

BarbaraofSeville · 17/11/2020 08:52

An 'ATTRACTIVELY PRICED PROPERTY from a MOTIVATED seller to buyers that are in a position to purchase relatively quickly. This property has been PRICED to ENCOURAGE a QUICK SALE'

But not motivated enough to make a start on packing up their nicknacks though?

This reminds me of that house in Liverpool a few years ago with a similar amount of bits and pieces. It can't be the same people because that would mean that they had sold that house, moved and be wanting to move again within a couple of years. It would probably take longer than that to unpack and redisplay all the ornaments.

The skirt around the bath and the fake period wooden beams on the living room ceiling really are something else.

notacooldad · 17/11/2020 08:52

This house may not be my taste but what I like about it is that someone made it their home.
They have their things around them and I'm guessing that makes them happy.
Why start a thread to bitch and sneer knowing everyone else will pile it on.

squashyhat · 17/11/2020 08:52

That's awful. Makes me claustrophobic just looking at it. What's the owner's name - Miss Havisham?

picklemewalnuts · 17/11/2020 08:59

Gosh that takes me back! It's all beautifully kept!

I need everything far simpler and plainer because I'm a shocking housekeeper.

ForTheLoveOfFaff · 17/11/2020 08:59

Well they didn't get the "declutter and neutralise" memo, did they...?

Why is it POA though? After bigging up the "priced for a quick sale" in the description, why would you not state the price? It all screams Nightmare Vendor to me...

MiniTheMinx · 17/11/2020 09:02

How do they not set light to the ivy round the oven?

ForTheLoveOfFaff · 17/11/2020 09:03

But to agree with what a PP said, it's obvious that a lot of love and attention has gone into the house. I always wonder about the circumstances that are driving a sale when I see these sort of houses up for sale Sad

BarbaraofSeville · 17/11/2020 09:05

I can't work out that oven. It looks to me like they've removed the oven part and replaced it with a tiny fridge Confused.

BarbaraofSeville · 17/11/2020 09:07

That's quite an odd looking development. Largish houses semi detached to small bungalows.

Squidwitch · 17/11/2020 09:10

I think they love their home. They don't need you to love it, you're not buying it. If you'd have gone to your boyfriend's nans house twenty years ago and it had been this, would you have taken photos, printed them and passed them out on the street for a laugh?

Elvesinquarantine · 17/11/2020 09:11

Imagine trying to relax in that bath?

helloxhristmas · 17/11/2020 09:16

Imagine all the dusting!

Why on earth is it POA though?

Chemenger · 17/11/2020 09:20

I agree with PPs that this is mean spirited. This is someone’s home, which they have put a lot of effort into, which doesn’t happen to be to your taste.

BogRollBOGOF · 17/11/2020 09:22

It's a dated, uber-chintzy style, but well cared for even if it's not to modern tastes.

I'd rather buy it and make it my own than buy a house that someone neutralised it by painting it a contemporary November fog throughout and have to redo it because it was intolerably impersonal and gloomy.

We bought our house for the space and proportions even though some walls have moved since, and not for the mock 70s brown wall paper and headache inducing sporlights reflecting off cheap laminate.

MinesAPintOfTea · 17/11/2020 09:23

Disappointed by the lack of gnomes in the garden: I expected more

Hopeishere52 · 17/11/2020 09:23

It looks like a house full of love, every detail thought out and characterful.

DryRoastPeanut · 17/11/2020 09:25

I do hate these threads about other peoples homes on rightmove. Totally unnecessary and very bitchy! Imagine finding your home being the laughing stock because you still embrace the Mrs Hinch style 50 shades of grey in 20 years time.

I agree with previous comments about it being well kept and a home.

Seeingadistance · 17/11/2020 09:26

I like their toaster - bit retro looking and nice colour.

borntobequiet · 17/11/2020 09:27

Love the pink bathroom suite. Mine’s only boring avocado, though it’s far higher quality than I could afford than if I bought new, and the cast iron bath with moulded back is wonderfully comfortable to lie in.

Bluntness100 · 17/11/2020 09:27

I think this is an elderly persons home. Agree it’s neat and tidy, someone’s taken great care of it. It’s not to modern standards or tastes, but then everyone is different.

lboogy · 17/11/2020 09:29

Then don't put your house on a public place.

So much stuff in the kitchen! The raspberry bathroom suite brings back childhood memories. We had burgundy, avocado and dark blue in various houses.
