This seems a bit bizarre to me. I did Google by the way and it said because it's old basically???

It’s a business investment, is t it? There’s a lot of money in football.

WellyBootsAreYouFrom · 17/11/2020 08:09

I think it's hilarious, can you imagine going to watch the game and bumping in to him? It's almost worth getting in to football...

EnjoyingTheSilence · 17/11/2020 08:10

I think Wrexham are going to have a few more fans. It’s completely ridiculous and I love it!

FunnyInjury · 17/11/2020 08:16

He has other 'fun' business interests I think. A gin company is one Grin

Why not? They needed an investor and he clearly has the cash Smile

IDontMindMarmite · 17/11/2020 08:28

I wondered if it was a joke to him.

Perhaps he watched too much Ted Lasso in lockdown Grin

@IDontMindMarmite

What’s jokey about putting millions(Iimage) into a business?

MrsMiaWallis · 17/11/2020 08:36

It's for a Netflix documentary.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/11/2020 08:38

@MrsMiaWallis

It's for a Netflix documentary.
That makes more sense. Lower league football clubs aren’t famously great investments.
IDontMindMarmite · 17/11/2020 08:40

I thought he'd be making a film about it. There you go then.

Netflix documentaries about this kind of thing are generally positive though, it'll be great for the club.

IDontMindMarmite · 17/11/2020 09:19

I hope so, rather than a piss take of the contrast between the Hollywood actor and small town people.

I hope it brings Wrexham back into the Football League. They have a long tradition and I was sad when they were relegated into the Conference (as it was then called).

Probably a better person to be owning a football club than about 90% of those who do in the UK.
