When you examine your boobs do they feel the same?

I have been to my GP and got a referral to the breast clinic but it is still a week away now. Basically, I had a little feel of my boibs and one feels thicker in the top area than the other. I'm not really sure how they should feel and if that's normal. It's kind of flat and ridgy I guess. I'd have thought it was breast tissue but the other side feels emptied. I stopped breast feeding my 2 year old about 7 months ago and have also been either pregnant or breastfeeding since I had my first nearly 8 years ago. So I'm just not sure how my boobs actually should feel and what is normal for them. I do keep reading that if an area doesnt match the other boov then to get it checked and it definitely doesnt. So I guess my question is, do your boobs feel the same on both sides when you examine them?

Blimey OP, are you me?! I have just been referred to the breast clinic too because I noticed one of my boobs was bigger/lumpier than the other. Actually, this one has always been a bit bigger, with more (what feels like) breast tissue in it, but it suddenly seems to be significantly so. I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding for the last 5 years, currently my 2 year old is very gradually weaning off, and it’s the most well used boob that seems bigger/lumpier now. Really similar to what you say, the smaller one feels really empty, and the other seems thicker.

How long did it take for your referral to come through? I only saw the gp on Friday, but I’m really impatient/scared to get it seen to.

Flowers for you

Wow yes really similar description to me! Mine was also preferred boob and always got fuller when breastfeeding. Other boob now like and empty sock (sexy) but at least I can feel clearly that there is nothing to worry about in it!

My referral apt has ended up being over 2 weeks after I saw GP. Only by a couple of days thankfully. They should be within two weeks though. I have been to breast clinic before about 6 years ago after I had my second baby and I noticed a very definite lump which was cyst and just went.

Honestly, as you're still breastfeeding I imagine you still have milk in yours causing lumps but obviously good to get it checked. Hope you get your referral soon Flowers
