How can I get my childcare vouchers refunded

KIDDIVOUCHERS refuses to refund 1600 pounds of vouchers which I could not use and won’t use as I am working from home since March (and holiday clubs are closed anyway). I have to deal with them directly because my employer is now using another provider. KIDDIVOUCHERS said that I need to loose my job or get ill in order to qualify for a refund. My son will be 15 in August. He has asthma and I don’t want him to attend summer holidays for a while before the COVID-19 pandemic is controlled Where can I get help to convince KIDDIVOUCHERS to refund me. Thanks

I feel like childcare vouchers is a scam, it's difficult to gauge how much it is worth saving up, especially as the older children get the less you need the vouchers which we didn't realise. We also have several 1000s worth and I don't think we will get it back. Who benefits from this? Not the parents.

Just think how many thousands and thousands of pounds lost to these schemes

Argh I'm getting myself worked up, this shouldn't be legal!

I'm trying to get over £1000 back via payroll and I'm not sure I will :(

Unfortunately I very much doubt you will. We never did get ours back and the kids are both over 15 now so I don’t suppose we ever will.

There isn’t even any way to donate them with Edenred, so I assume they just take the money themselves eventually.

It’s an absolute scandal, but no one seems to really care. I even tried to get my MP involved but absolutely no interest from them.

I have 2k and a 15 year old. Just couldn’t find anyway to use them and ex-employer wouldn’t help to get them refunded.
what happens to the money, that’s what I’d like to know. Should be offset on my tax bill or something. Just kept as profits I assume

This popped up in my 'Threads I'm on' and I couldn't remember why so read back to see that I had mentioned I was planning to donate our excess to our primary school's breakfast club. I couldn't remember if I had in the end so I've just logged into our account (amazed it still exists!) and saw that we did indeed do that - I assume we spoke to the school first as our payment was made with the reference 'Donation to school hardship fund'.

So might be an option for others who have exhausted the refund options, and there doesn't seem to be a time limit on making the payment - our son is now 16 but when I just tried to make a payment, the error message was that I had no balance available (rather than I couldn't do it because he was too old).

I wonder if there is a way it would count as charitable giving, so could be declared on your self assessment and you'd at least get 20% back...

Thank you. It ended up an easy process and they will be refunded. I imagine some companies are better at this than others. Thank goodness I was with a nice one.
