Ingenio Pans

I've been trying to make my kitchen dreams come true, and am slowly working through stuff to 'upgrade' to better quality, so recent additions include big casserole pan (ridiculously so for 2 people but it'll grow with us!) and the snazzy Joseph and Joseph nest utensils.

Annnnyyway, I've been eyeing up the ingenio pans for some time...but I'm just not 100% sure... I'm concerned that you end up buying extra handles as I'm not entirely sure you can take the handle off while cooking....so you end up basically keeping the handle on full time, negating all the space saving...

That maybe for the price they're not great quality. and I'm paying for a fancy removable handle.

Does anybody live with them...are they a faff, or will they really give me the cupboard space, and the hob to oven abilities I dream of, while being a relatively decent pan.

I have my eye on these as well since i have just had a new kitchen and it is far smaller than I am used to ( new house) so need more space. My current pans are more than 25 years old but still almost like new but i feel justifed in buying new ones affer all this time!So hopeful bump.

We've had them for about five years and find them great. You can take the handle off and put in over mid cooking which is really handy and they stack neatly in our drawers.

I bought them over the summer as needed to replace ridiculously cheap and crappy pans plus had £120 gift vouchers from JL so invested in the large set. I’m always switching the handles between pans during cooking and it’s very easy.

The one thing I still need to get are the kids for use in the oven or when needed on the job; other than that, I love them!!

We’ve got them and are very happy. We just have the one handle and it’s so easy to clip on and off, would definitely buy them again.

LittleBearPad · 12/11/2020 22:09

They absolutely aren’t a faff. You can leave the handle on, take it off - whatever. They stack brilliantly without fixed handles.

DiscontentedWoman · 12/11/2020 22:10

I've got them for caravanning. They are good but I'm still a bit nervous that the handle is going to "let go" - never happened but they make me twitchy.

Peckhampalace · 12/11/2020 22:17

Had ours about a year. Thought 3 handles wasn't enough but as above just switch while cooking. Our concern was scratches where handles are taken off and on but not really happening.
Very pleased with them and would buy again. Just wish they had ovenproof lids as they work well for starting something on the job and finishing in the oven.

Watching with interest, I really want some of these so good to know they work.

Ferfecksackmammy · 12/11/2020 23:04

I had them and the pans themselves were fine but I had to replace the handles a number of times. I have a gas hob so I don't know if the flame was too high and burnt the handle.

FanSpamTastic · 12/11/2020 23:21

I have them - love them! I only have 2 handles. We have 3 pans and 2 frying pans. Had them about 4 years now.

I click them on and off pans during cooking. The only time it's an issue is if I'm making something really sloppy like a pasta sauce. I also have the various lids and use the silicon ones to put stuff in the fridge.

We have the stainless steel ones - they wash well in the dishwasher.

I would buy them again.

FanSpamTastic · 12/11/2020 23:22

For added info - use them on an induction job.

Feminist10101 · 12/11/2020 23:27

You aren’t actually meant to leave the handles on whilst cooking.

Had ours for a few years - 2 handles. No issues. They’re brilliant.

Not all are suitable for induction.

Another vote for them here! Literally changed my life overnight... freed up an entire drawer in the kitchen, and very good for lazy people like me as you can serve stuff directly from the pan on the table, then stick on the plastic lid afterwards to chuck it in the fridge.

But you are meant to take them off.
