Dont they use bucket and water anymore?

I live in a flat on a main road and Ive just paid £20 in London for three sash windows. It took him 10 minutes. And i dont know what he cleaned with I only saw a cloth. They look much better but not brilliant theres smudges there that I cant reach. I asked him to do the pvc door and he literally wiped the bit of glass in it. I was expecting a bucket of hot water chucked over the full thing😃

My window cleaners didn't do a great job either. I asked him to wipe down the PVC rims on the windows as they are so dirty (outside). He looked genuinely insulted! He started rabbiting on about how he does the windows - my argument is that the rims are PART of the window, and why should I pay him for cleaning them if I need to go out after him and...clean them! Ultimately, I changed window cleaner. He still isn't great but it is better.

My new one uses a brush on a pole system. My old one was up and down a ladder with the cloth/squeegee thing

Im up a floor so he cant use a water system it has to be by hand. He gets such great recommendations on line I dont get it reall. Thats £2 a minute. I need a price for the back ones as well but Im recluctant now.

The poles are extendable and can go up very high. I've seen the being used to clean guttering/soffits, etc on the 2 storey houses here

My window cleaner used soapy water & a squeegee for years with good results.
This year he’s using a pole, it leaves the windows wet & streaky with the upvc frames untouched.
He says he doesn’t want to pay £1500 extra on his insurance for using a ladder.

EachandEveryone · 12/11/2020 14:54

Its because they will complain underneath me if he uses a pole.

Have you got moaners below you then?

Mine don't clean plastic surrounds/window sills unless you ask and then they charge you extra

Brush and a pole. Takes him about 30 minutes to do the house, we have lots of big windows. He charges £11 for this.

Mines sash 1920’s so lots of little windows. I expect it is a faff.

My window cleaner uses bucket of water and a cloth but I think the same water and cloth used for several houses We pay £10 all windows small semi once per month . Midlands .

This will vary depending on the raw material of your window. If your window is wooden, special and expensive products should be used. Simpler and cheaper materials can be used in PVC.

For example, it is very easy: pimapen.co/urunler/pimapen-nirvana
